Tariffs are a big conversation. This is how a small business like Nomads, is feeling it first hand.
Last weekend started with 14 orders, 8 from the U.S. and 6 from Canada. So yes, on that particular weekend, more than half of our orders were coming from our American customers.
Then the tariffs hit.
After reaching out to those 8 U.S. customers about the additional costs, 7 cancelled their orders.
That might sound small in the grand scheme of things… but at our level, those numbers matter.
We’re not here to tell anyone who to blame or what side to take. We simply wanted to show you, firsthand, what these changes can look like for a small business like ours.
Behind all the headlines and political debates are real businesses, real employees, real customers and real orders that suddenly disappear.
And when the same thing starts happening to thousands of small businesses, that ripple gets a whole lot bigger.
