Hello Beautiful Phoenixes, 🦋🔥
Today, I want to share a little more about the woman behind Empowering Phoenixes—because this business is so much more than stickers, T-shirts, designs, banners, and prints.
I have lived through 40 years of experiences that have shaped who I am.
There have been beautiful memories, but there has also been darkness.
I have experienced abuse, sexual trauma, domestic violence, harassment, manipulation, isolation, financial hardship, and the kind of emotional battles that aren't always visible to the people around you.
I have experienced what it feels like to have your experiences minimized.
To have your voice questioned.
To be told, directly or indirectly, that you're too loud, too emotional, too much, or that you should simply stay quiet.
I've experienced what it feels like to help other people find their voices while struggling to find my own.
I've had to rebuild my life more than once.
And honestly?
There were times when I had to pretend to be a phoenix before I actually believed I could become one.
I learned how to keep going even when I was hurting.
I learned how to create when I didn't feel creative.
I learned how to show up for others when I didn't always feel strong enough to show up for myself.
And somewhere along the way, I realized something:
My story doesn't have to stay hidden just because someone else is uncomfortable hearing it.
That realization became part of the heart behind Empowering Phoenixes.
I started creating art because I wanted people to see themselves differently.
Not as what happened to them.
Not as what someone else called them.
Not as a label.
Not as a victim.
But as a person who is still here.
A person who is worthy.
A person who matters.
A person whose story deserves space.
A person who can rise.
That is why when I create something for someone, I don't just see a customer.
I see a story.
Whether I'm creating a T-shirt, hoodie, tote, sticker, button, banner, ornament, memorial piece, or a Glow-Up transformation, I want that creation to mean something.
I want it to carry a message.
I want it to help someone feel seen.
And I want people to know that their experiences don't erase their worth.

I may be a small business.
I may be working with a printer, a Cricut, a heat press, and the resources I have available to me.
But small does not mean insignificant.
I may not have a huge production facility.
I may not have expensive commercial equipment.
I may not have a large team behind me.
What I do have is heart, creativity, lived experience, determination, and a reason for creating.
I have had my artwork published.
I have had my artwork shown at a trauma conference in Boston.
I've sold my artwork.
I've had designs, banners and buttons featured through media coverage.
And I continue to create because I believe art can give people something that words sometimes cannot:
A way to be seen.
❤️ And I want to be transparent about something else.
Yes, I use AI.
I use AI to help create some of my posts and images, and I'm not ashamed of that.
For me, AI is a creative tool.
I use it to help visualize ideas, work through concepts, make adjustments, explore different possibilities, and sometimes help me communicate exactly what I'm trying to create.
But the message, concept, direction, personal meaning and purpose behind my work come from me.
I don't use AI because I don't care about creating.
I use it because I care about getting things right.
Sometimes I know exactly what I want to say or create, but putting that vision into words or an image can be difficult.
AI helps me bring that vision closer to what I see in my head.
And when I'm creating something for someone else, I want to take the time to get as close as possible to their vision, too.
There is a real person behind Empowering Phoenixes.
There is a real story.
There is real heart.
And there is a real reason behind why I create.
Empowering Phoenixes isn't about pretending that the darkness never happened.
It's about refusing to let the darkness have the final word.
It's about taking the pieces of ourselves that other people tried to silence and turning them into something meaningful.
It's about reminding survivors, families, individuals, and anyone who has ever felt invisible:
You are still here.
You still matter.
You are worthy.
Your story matters.
And you are allowed to rise.
