We totally lost September. It’s gone and it’s never coming back! 😩 We spent the whole month home sick, one or the other of us was sick the whole time and sometimes we were all sick at once! I think my kids went to school for about three days this month, and I got to work a scattered three days out of 30. We did bronchitis, ear infections, stomach flu, covid, emergency rooms, quarantines, isolation, a whole lot of screen time, and about 3000 cups of mint tea with honey. I’m kind of losing my mind, and currently knocked out with cold (or covid?) symptoms, but I trust we’ll all survive and this will all be over someday. Hopefully soon.
I’m really bummed about missing September because it’s the best hiking weather of the whole year. ☹️ Hopefully we’ll all feel better soon and we can make up for lost time with lots of beautiful October hiking.
Bright spots:
-One night, the kids were sick and fell asleep early, and I got to start a new sewing project! If I’m lucky I can squeeze in about 20 minutes each evening to work on it. Luckily it’s a really easy project!
-Harriet discovered the world of Studio Ghibli movies and it’s wonderful. Whenever we’re too sick and miserable to do anything else, we snuggle up on the couch and watch another beautiful movie. Totoro, Ponyo, The Borrowers, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Whisper of the Heart, they’re so good and I’m so excited that she loves them too!
-kittens are magical, even on the worst days.
-lots of baking and craft projects on the days when we’re not too sick to do anything at all.
