I like to knit the neck and sleeves of a sweater before finishing the body because A. The neck and sleeves can sometimes change the length of the body, B. If I'm running low on yarn I can just end the body early rather than risking running out partway through a sleeve, and C. When I finish the body, all that's left is to weave in the ends and block!

It's pattern release day!

The Early Bird Socks feature wriggly curvy lines down the front to resemble worms, with purl stitches in the negative space that look like scattered seeds, giving these socks really pretty textural interest. They are worked cuff-down with options for a Crew or Ankle Leg, your choice of an Eye of Partridge Flap & Gusset Heel or a Shadow Wrap Short Row Heel, and a Wedge Toe. The texture motif is worked on the front of the leg and down the top of the foot using increases, decreases, and purl stitches. The pattern includes sizes between 6-10"(15-25cm).

I frogged a sweater that I never wore (well once, for photos, but that's it) to knit a tee that I WILL (hopefully) wear. I'm trying to be better at using up yarn that I already have to knit pieces I'll actually want to put on... groundbreaking, I know! 😂

This design has a really neat construction that I've never done before, but gosh, there sure are a lot of ends to weave in! I've hidden them in this photo, but you can trust me.

Finished! ✨ If you have the opportunity to get your hands on this yarn, I highly recommend it, it's SO soft! And this tank only used one skein for my size 👌 I'm so happy eiththe colour, I think this will be a great neutral layering piece.

Knitting with Melissa Goulet' handspun is such a lovely experience. It's probably how spinners feel about knitting their own yarn, but I'm still not ready to take on that whole new hobby 😉

I finished my Dreamland Advent Wing It Shawl with enough yarn left over to knit a great big cozy cowl. It might end up being so ridiculously tall that I'll split it into two cowls, but for now I'm having fun experimenting. We shall see!
