“I’m not really one for absolute New Years resolutions which is shocking since I love making lists, writing things down and making very detailed plans. When I have actual goals I do try to put together a general plan for how I will accomplish it but I always go into it knowing that my plan is not set in stone. The plan gives me a guide to stay on track, and gives me a safe way to deviate from the plan, but one of my greatest lessons has been the knowledge that it’s never set in stone. But for New Years resolutions, I usually don’t make any and I keep things general. This year I’d like to go outside every day, even if it’s just to walk my dog around the yard. Obviously I’d like to climb more mountains and knock a few hikes off my checklist, but I won’t dictate which ones those will be. I’d like to camp a few times and maybe try one back country overnight backpacking trip. I want to keep solo hiking and maybe catch a few more sunrises.”

If you don't know already, HI, I'm Holly, and I grew up in Houston, Texas. I lived there for 29 years. "Winter" in that area is maybe a week. Leading with that, I am NOT used to these cold temperatures. Neither is Jason.
