Octopus for a Preemie Canada / Pieuvres pour Bébés Prématurés Canada Octopus for a Preemie' is a volunteer run worldwide initiative with the goal of providing crochet octopi to premature babies.

We donate crocheted octopuses to NICUs for preemies across Canada, which helps reduce the risk of babies pulling on their leads and tubes and contributes to their neurosensory development. The tentacles of the octopi resemble the umbilical cord and have been observed to calm babies and reduce the risk of them pulling on their leads and tubes. The initiative began in Denmark in 2013, and is now ava

We connected with so many talented fibre artists and inspiring vendors from across Canada. It was a fantastic chance to raise awareness about Octopus for a Preemie Canada, share our mission, and learn new ideas to help us grow and reach even more of Canada’s smallest patients! 🐙❤️
