My picks revolve around getting him stuff that he's comfortable in and is durable enough to handle all the wear and tear that woodworking puts on clothes. The Le Mont St. Michel genuine work jacket is a no-brainer for that reason, and so is a pair of orSlow denims. I would also pick out a new Drake's button down oxford for him; he wears oxford shirts regularly, but he always gets really cheap ones that disintegrate in a few wears, and I hate them (sorry dad).
My dad's name is Bosco, and he immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong when he was 18. He's kind, generous with his time, and very hardworking. He's also always been a bit of a tinkerer; always chewing on something in the back of his mind, figuring out how to solve problems. I definitely think that a lot of my interests have been informed by seeing him dive deep into his own projects.
What's a memory you have of your dad that comes to your mind?
Going downstairs to the basement and checking out what my dad was working on was always something to look forward to. He makes his own snooker cue sticks, and watching him cut, sand, and finish everything by hand was really awesome to see.
