I learned from Rich Gallardo today that the Vatican has reportedly appointed Prof. Umberto Longo, a historian and a well-known Scottish Rite Freemason, to the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences. I briefly looked into the records myself, and the story appears legitimate.
