Thank you for five amazing years!

I started this little business baby five years ago, almost to the day. I had no idea then where it was going to take me, but it's certainly helped me find confidence, community, and even a new passion in mending.

And after five years, I'm ready to let it go.

It's time to close the door to Golden Hour Knits and open new doors in the world of textile arts, fibre art, and repair.

You can find the last of my stock over at Harvest Collective Market and Mendery - and you can find me there, mending away each Friday! And if you'd like to follow my journey as a textile artist (a new title I'm trying out for myself), then I'd love for you to come join me

See you soon.

Hey there.

I know, I’ve been gone for some time. But the cozy season is upon us, and I wanted to tell you about something I’m planning.

I’m very excited that I’ll be part of the East Coast Artisans Show Festive Artisan Market again this year. It will be December 1, at the Truro Market Hall, from 4-8pm. I’ll be bringing the usual hats and headbands, but I’m also doing something new!

I don’t know about you, but the world is heavy right now, and for me, it feels good to control what little I can. This has led me to be more drawn to mending than making lately, which gave me an idea for this show…

Fixing to Fix!

I’m going to be selling little mending vouchers at the East Coast Artisans market. It’s going to be pay what you can, with a minimum of $15 to help me cover the cost of time. These would make a fantastic gift - I’ll have denim repair, knitwear repair, and sock mending as options for purchase. The best part? I’m donating any profits from the Fixing to Fix initiative to Droplets of Mercy Urgent Support for Palestine.

💙 Your loved one gets a treasured item mended
💙 Innocent people struggling in Gaza receive support
💙 You win best gift of the season

It’s a win-win-win!

I’ll see you December 1, 4-8pm, at the Truro Farmers Market Cooperative hall!

So pleased that Saltwire wrote this article on the Care and Repair Market that was put on by the Living Earth Council at the Truro Farmers Market Cooperative the Friday before last!

Reducing our consumption is key to reducing our waste. Markets like this help us do that by giving us the resources to maintain the things we already own, whether that means getting your shears sharpened or fixing a hole in your favourite sweater. I would love to see markets like this grow!

Do you know someone who likes fixing things? I'd love to connect with them about a little project I have brewing!

Oh, and check out the article here: https://www.saltwire.com/atlantic-canada/communities/truro-care-and-repair-market-saves-items-from-the-landfill-100788776/?fbclid=IwAR38FdEsaezR-7sj5CBOdfkwNPccNp5B3FTlXtSkKdKZU12pkUe_Q7VEWOw

I'd love to hear about how you're celebrating in the comments!

I love doing custom work.

It's incredibly satisfying to chat with you about your vision, gather supplies, and bring your idea to life.

I've done everything from sweaters and vests to blankets to leg warmers and boot cuffs, and it's been a joy every single time.

The holidays are rapidly approaching, and custom knits can make a really special gift.

Do you have something in mind that you'd love to see made into reality? Send me a DM and I would be happy to chat about how we can make it work!

Please keep in mind that knitting can be a slow process, so my capacity before the holidays is limited!

Oh hey there 👋

We have some new faces around my little bitty corner of the internet, so I thought it was time to introduce myself again!

My name is Amy, and I'm a lover of all things soft, squishy, and cozy. That's probably why Fall is my favourite season.

I love doing all kinds of creating, but knitting and mending are my favourites. If you ask me, nothing beats the feel of fat, squishy wool on wooden needles!

When I'm not creating for myself and my business, I also do some social media management and virtual assistant work for local small businesses.

Outside of knitting, I like to read, play D&D with my pals, and I'm on a big Stardew Valley kick (again).

I'd love to know more about you, too - tell me about one of your hobbies in the comments!

ID: Amy wears a white hat with a Golden Hour Knits Label, a pink sweater and a beige trench coat. She is looking left, away from the camera, and her left hand touches the back of her hat.
