Westside Vancouver Project Revisit | Taking Another Look After a Year and a Half

This is a Westside Vancouver client project we completed a year and a half ago.
This time, we returned to the client’s home for a follow-up visit.
From the kitchen cabinetry, island, and appliance wall to the staircase, family room, and third-floor common space, the same Italian light grey oak runs through the entire project.
There’s no deliberate piling up of materials, and no overly showy sense of luxury. The wood grain, grey tones, stone, and lighting connect with one another, giving the whole home a very cohesive design language.
This is a Westside Vancouver luxury home character we really like: understated, restrained, yet with details and texture that stand the test of time.

Vancouver’s weather calls for a little more lighting.
Transparency creates continuity.
The new glass side panel connects the interior of the wall cabinet with the boiserie, creating visual continuity between the shelves and giving the volumes a lighter feel.
Light passes through the glass and into the cabinet, enhancing the materials and objects on display and transforming storage and boiserie into a single architectural element.
A detail that opens up the space, bringing together light, material and transparency—adding a layer of brightness and warmth for Vancouver’s rainy days. The Cut Kitchen By Design Kitchen + Interior

A dedicated w**e corner, where material and light define the space.
The vertical panel system in Sabbia smooth oak veneer gives rhythm to the composition, while the backlit column enhances the bottles with soft, atmospheric light.

The Cubik collection evolves, while staying true to its architectural identity.
Designed in 2009 by Ricardo Gava, Cubik has become one of the brand’s most distinctive and iconic collections, defined by clean geometric lines, aesthetic precision and its signature 45-degree edge.
The renewed Cubik collection, launched today, builds on this identity with new modular configurations, increased storage solutions and a broader material palette, with textured surfaces that offer a rich, inviting tactile experience. New wood finishes, HPL surfaces and glass proposals offer designers greater freedom to shape their personal projects. Ideagroup By Design Kitchen + Interior

GENESI begins with a memory.
A kitchen conceived as an architectural installation, suspended between function and contemplation, where raw matter becomes space, and space becomes ritual.

Whether it’s the first impression in the foyer or the quiet depth of the study, this custom collection blends in seamlessly. We deliberately moved beyond the conventional “flat narrative” of traditional bookcases. Through staggered layering of panel thicknesses and a dynamic interplay of diverse materials, our designers have transformed the cabinetry into a three-dimensional art installation. The result is a visually striking composition with refined texture and a functional balance between “concealment and display.” This time, beauty and practicality need not compromise.

In Alessandro‘s memory, everything originates from all the movements that take place inside the house, and from these movements the activities themselves are generated. The kitchen island is precisely derived from this dining table. The table is the primary existence, with the island subsequently arranged to complement it.

Following this order, the island never competes with the table. It orbits the table like a moon around a planet. Energy flows from ”gathering“ (the table) to ”making“ (the island), never the reverse. This inversion of the traditional kitchen hierarchy is the defining characteristic of a ”lived-in home“ rather than a ”merely built house.“

Vancouver West Duplex Project - The color palette from the kitchen and bathroom carries seamlessly into the walk-in closet. The richness of walnut wood brings a sense of luxury, while the oversized handles in metal and leather become the closet’s standout feature.

The same off-white tone extends to the secondary bedroom’s walk-in closet, where glass door panels add an element of visual interest and introduce a display function — letting your bags, shoes, and accessories be seen at a glance.

Our recently completed duplex project features the popular Sofia door in a matt lacquered and walnut finish. The homeowner chose walnut wood as an accent to complement the floor color, while the rest of the space is grounded in an off-white base — a thoughtful mix of light and dark that creates a beautifully layered, comfortable feel.

For the bathroom, we selected two of our best-selling models — exceptionally refined. The full-drawer, floating design not only solves storage needs but also leaves the space feeling open and airy.
