Starting off the week with some exciting news!🎉

The Èveryday Top pattern releases ~ August 21st 🗓️

I’m excited for this release, the has been my go to top since casting it off. So easy to throw on and honestly it pairs well with everything I’ve thrown at it from skirts, pants, and even shorts!

It’s quite the showstopper, and just like a skort ~ it’s all serious in the front and party in the back! with this fun cutout design that really makes it pop✨

I just can’t wait for you to knit and fall in love with this pattern 💗🤭

Yikes, looks like I’m a bit late for a TDF post ~⏰ With the Tour De Fleece ending back the end July. I think it’s finally time to share my yarns.

the summer just goes by so quickly, and this year it really is…

Main sweater spin: 791 grams of wool, I bought this Raw Rambouillet wool from Melissa Goulet at Fibres West back in March. Washed and then Hand-carded with some Muga silk from Sanjo Silk

Final spin: 5 skeins, 1089 meters of 3ply yarn

Combo spun, two beautiful squishy batts and the softest spin I’ve spun in a long time. Two batts each 100g from Melissa Goulet

Final spin: 1 skein, 306 meters of 4ply yarn

My first attempt at a combo draft with this year’s summer fibre box from Meaghan 150g split only 6 different coloured braids.

Final spin: hard to say for this one. The 3 mini skeins, 2ply, but all have different meter lengths, about 79-94 meters.

This spin will most likely be a fall cast on, or it better be after I find a pattern. 300g, 3 braids 2 of haunui and 1 of merino from Nicole Barnaby spun as is and then ply’d together 🍂✨

Final spin: 2 skeins, 480 meters of 3 ply yarn

Who even knows with this one? But I do love spinning it! It seems I lost the tag and staple length for this batt. I believe it was a down wool? Probably one of the last Melissa Goulet blossom club subscription I got before switching clubs, All I know it it’s wool blended with some % of sari silk.

Not final: 50g out of the 100g spun on old and new Woodland Woodworking spindles

It seems so silly that before the Tour started I said I would take it slow this year, and not try to out spin last year, and here I am about 1.3 kilos later….

Yes 1.3 Kilos! 11 total skeins, 2099 meters ✨ It’s soooo much wool (last years total was about 1.1 kilo)

First Finished skein of TDF 👏

A bit of a late share since I actually finished this one during week 1, but it took a bit of time to dry, but it here now✨👌

To me this one was a perfect spinning experience from start to finish! I took two of my Melissa Goulet batts split up into small nuggets all mixed together in one basket and then I just combo spun them at random. That’s it; nothing fancy, just spun them as I picked them up. Since I ended up with 4 Traveler bobbins full, each of 50g I just plus them together for even less fussing around, it was so quick and mindless I loved it! And It’s soooo SQUISHY and DAMN SOFT!

The Finished Yarn:
Batt 1 - “Jojepa” Bond + 20% Cashgora.
Batt 2- Cormo X Merino + 10% Yak + 10% Tussah Silk
Together: 200g, 306 meters of 9 WPI a Worsted weight yarn

Some swatches from May🪴

I seemed to be in a bit of a searching mood last month with trying to figure out some potential yarn options for future knits.

☁️ I’m still on the fence with the first one, but I got 3 completely different yarns (no sweater quantity). I just wanted to see and test out holding 2 together. Feel the difference between the fabrics when I just swapped one of the options out. The drape, the look and texture and the overall feel. I’m still not sure which I liked best in the end, but they were all knit on 3mm needles.

Option 1: Andes by & Remix Light / 16 stitches × 24 rows

Option 2: Andes by & Heritagee / 19 stitches × 26 rows

Option 3: Heritage & Remix Light / 20 stitches × 26 rows

🫐 Potentially a summer tee: Bio Balance, a sport-weight yarn from knit on 3mm / 26 stitches × 36 rows

🌿My handspun yarn: I have about 336 meters, spun from Pond Scum Batt (Corriedale and silk blend). knit on 5mm / 16 stitches × 22 rows.

This one is such a textured, squishy, fun colour and very unique yarn! I swatched this one no project in mind, purely out of curiosity and I have nothing planned after this 😅? I’m open to ideas though.

The Maggie Cardigan 🫐

Originally supposed to be my first finished object of 2026 and somehow ended up taking almost half the year! All because of different dye lots and a sad loss of Yarn Chicken. Now it’s my fifth finished project, but even with all that drama it’s finished I love it! And can’t stop wearing it.

It’s also my first time knitting with a suri alpaca silk blend instead of just a mohair silk add on. I’ve been so curious about this alternative and I’m glad I tried it. The fabric feels softer, fuzzier, and looks more blended. it gives the cardigan such a lovely cozy texture. I want more! The yarn and of this pattern, maybe even one in every colour???
