Whether you’re passionate about the rising of sea levels, society’s reliance on fossil fuels, or simply wish to start a community garden, your cause is very much identical to every other environmental cause existent. These environmental issues are often pushed to side, and can be neglected by the public. As youth, however, we are fortunate to be living in a nation where we have the power to voice

our opinions and beliefs

With a collective and united environmental organization with particular focus areas during the duration of the year, we could create a greater leverage in which we could more efficiently gain the attention of the general public. With the entire nation believing in a particular cause, for a duration of time, we could create successful campaigns that also create awareness and catalyze change within our society. As an organization under the Canadian Youth Sustainability Network, your club will be under a national societal movement and hence an integral part of the ex*****on of current campaigns and projects in your particular region. With this national campaign strategy, we can efficiently create a unified youth voice, in which we can make a greater impact. Organizations under the network will be able to receive resources, materials, and connections just from being part of the network. If your organization was also planning a separate project, the network would provide full support and access to a national portal, in which your organization will be able to connect with other clubs across the nation and gain support from other youth. The Canadian Youth Sustainability Network ultimately aims of uniting every environmental organization and club in Canada to ensure environmental initiatives and campaigns receive the leverage and concurrence it deserves.

VLCS 2014 was a tremendous success, with nearly 360 attendees, over 15,000 garments diverted from the landfill, and 80 bags of the remaining clothes donated to Big Brothers.
