Why do lace and beadwork affect alteration costs?

Lace and delicate beadwork are exquisite, and at Sculpt Bridal we love working with them. But altering lace and beads requires a hand-crafted process:

1. Hand Removal : Unstitching lace appliqués and beads by hand so surrounding details stay perfectly intact.

2. Fitting & Reshaping: Adjusting the internal gown structure to sculpt your ideal silhouette.

3. Re-Applique : Hand-sewing each piece of lace and beadwork back onto the gown for a flawless, custom finish.

At Sculpt Bridal, we have perfected this process to ensure you look and feel gorgeous in your dress.

In this alteration spotlight, we share the story of the dress that pushed craftsmanship to the limit and became a masterpiece.

Since the original construction of the garment had been previously touched, achieving the perfect silhouette became our main goal, so we started by reconstructing the bodice.
The extended corset bodice included boning, boning channels, and structural mesh.
Next, we separated the skirt from the bodice and reshaped it.
We readjusted the centre front and back.
The sides were taken in.

Later, after fittings, the meticulous handwork began, focusing on adding and replacing lace.

Finally, the hem and bustle were worked on, and the dress was completed.

We were absolutely thrilled to take on the challenge of remaking this dress and sculpting it into something unique and beautiful for our lovely bride, and now we are happy to see her smiling in her wedding photos.

Behind the Scenes✨ Bustle for a scalloped-edge wedding dress.

5 tiny hooks + 5 handmade thread loops safely hold the dress's train for Her, so she can easily walk and dance.

To make it almost invisible, every hook is covered with a small lace element, leaving access to hang the loops.
