Are you still getting headaches, neck pain, dry-eye-like symptoms, or motion sickness after hours of screen time—even after trying blue light glasses, the 20-20-20 rule, better lighting, and an ergonomic setup?

In this video, Dr. Jay explains a commonly overlooked connection between subtle eye misalignment, the trigeminal nerve, and persistent symptoms associated with computer vision syndrome. You’ll learn how your eye muscles work together to keep vision aligned, why a tiny mismatch may force them to constantly compensate, and how that extra effort may contribute to headaches, neck and shoulder discomfort, burning eye sensations, and motion sensitivity.

We also discuss visually induced trigeminal dysphoria, why this type of eye misalignment can be difficult to detect during a routine eye exam, how specialized testing can measure alignment at distance and up close, and how specialized prism lenses may be used in certain cases.

If you’ve tried the usual screen-strain solutions but still feel uncomfortable after working at a computer, this video may give you another topic to discuss with your eye doctor.

How to get rid of puffy eyes — and why most remedies don't work for everyone. Puffy eyes and swollen eyelids in the morning can come from several different causes, and the right treatment for puffy eyes depends entirely on what's causing yours. In this video, optometrist Dr. J breaks down the real causes of eye puffiness and swollen eyelids, and explains why a remedy that works for one person may do nothing for another.

You'll learn:
👁️ Why puffy eyes happen more often in the morning
💧 How fluid retention, salt intake, dehydration, and sleep position affect eyelid swelling
🌿 How allergies cause puffy eyes and "allergic shiners" under the eyes
🔥 Why clogged eyelid glands need a warm compress — not a cold one
🥄 When cold compresses, chilled spoons, and elevation actually reduce puffy eyes
⚠️ When persistent eyelid swelling could signal thyroid eye disease
🧬 Why some under-eye bags are genetic or structural, not caused by lifestyle
✅ How to match the right puffy eye remedy to your actual cause

The key to getting rid of puffy eyes isn't just treating the swelling — it's identifying why it's happening in the first place. This video walks through the most common causes of puffy eyes and swollen eyelids so you can figure out which one applies to you.

If your eyelid swelling is persistent, worsening, one-sided, painful, or comes with vision changes, see your eye doctor for a proper evaluation — this video is educational and not a substitute for an in-person exam.

Why are your eyes puffy in the morning? 👁️

Puffy eyes and swollen eyelids can happen because of fluid retention around the eyes. High sodium intake, alcohol, dehydration, crying, and even sleeping on your stomach can make morning eye puffiness more noticeable.

Certain blood pressure medications, including some calcium channel blockers, may also contribute to swelling or puffiness around the eyes.

In this video, Dr. J explains some of the common causes of puffy eyelids and why fluid can build up around your eyes overnight.

If you regularly wake up with swollen or puffy eyes, understanding the cause is the first step toward finding the right solution.
