This dress design drew me in to watching this clip and my experience and recognition of what came up for me inspires me to share it. As I watched the dresses appear and the detail and design I noticed I didn't see the models at all. It was the design and what it invoked in me. What they reminded me of. I rewatched it as I hadn't even been conscious of the models. I saw them as walking mannequins. not as individual women with personalities. Walking body after body in the same posture. Mannequins! Then it dawned on me. This body has unfortunately become the symbolism of beauty when it's only purpose is to hang clothes on and present them to an audience. This body type displays the details of these design beautifully as they hang in a way to demonstrate as much of the detail as possible. Beautiful on that body? No. The dresses are beautiful, the posture is not. The body type is not. The facial expressions are not. This is the first time I visually saw what the of models for designers are - walking hangers. So much of the emphasis has been on the super models and their fame and status, yet with this line of clothing it was never so apparent to me how societies obsession has contributed to its directionality and social conditioning. Robotic body after identical body and only the clothes have personality. Ouch. This is my experience and interpretation based upon response to the stimulus. ,
