Wellā¦maybe I was a little too hasty when I said I wouldnāt be writing patterns anymore. Maybe I just needed a break.
A break from thinking about patterns.
A break from taking photos for patterns.
A break from constantly coming up with new ideas.
A break from feeling like I had to keep up with what social media wanted from me.
Just a nice, long break.
Lately, Iāve been making items to sell, and Iāve actually been really enjoying it. Iāve sold a couple of pieces, and Iāll continue making and selling things here and there.
But Iām also going to start writing patterns again.
I miss it.
The difference this time is that Iām going to do it on my time. Iāll write a pattern when Iām inspired to write one. I wonāt be worrying about whether Iām releasing enough, posting enough, or keeping up with some imaginary schedule.
Iāve seen so many knitters lately talking about how pressured they feel by social media, and I think thatās exactly what was happening to me too. Somewhere along the way, something I loved started feeling like something I had to keep up with.
Taking a step back has reminded me that slowing down and actually enjoying the process makes me more creative.
So yesā¦you can look forward to new, easy, beginner-friendly patterns from me again!
But I have absolutely no idea when theyāll be coming out.
Theyāll be released when theyāre ready.
Some patterns might take months and months to make their way into the world. Others might come together much faster. And thatās okay.
No rushing. No pressure. Just creating when the inspiration strikes and enjoying the process along the way.
And honestly?
Iām excited.
I hope you are too! ā¤ļø
