🧶5 issues you can face starting handmade business:
💙1. AI patterns💙
You may noticed there are many AI created patterns. Sadly, it increases the competition. Also, AI patterns usually are cheaper. But often they are not written properly and the result photo and a finished item are totally different things. People understand it after buying and using the pattern.
💙2. Pattern stealing/copyright💙
If you are a pattern designer then you need to be ready that your patterns can be stollen. Sadly, not all appreciate your time and effords. I mean not just some small resellers. There are even situations when you can find your patterns on big market places and even with bigger prices.
💙3. Pity marketing💙
This one is getting more and more popular lately. It makes me really sad because such videos devalue the true appreciation of handmade items. Fake videos (AI generated), and items for mass market, not handmade. Such videos increases struggles for true artists.
I guess this one depends on the country, but I live in the central part of Canada and shipping really costs much here. I add some shipping price to the item price, but still, Comparing to other countries, it’s high and badly manageable.
💙4. High shipping cost💙

💙5. Social networks💙
If you don’t plan to pay for advertising, then be ready that social networks won’t work right away. Each social network has its own algorithm. Sometimes people won’t even see you posting. And an important part of all social networks is that you need to post regularly otherwise there won’t be growth.
