From plant to fabric. 🪴 Bananatex® starts with the Abacá plant, a wild banana species growing in the Philippines between cocoa and teak trees in existing permaculture — nourished merely by rainwater, without artificial irrigation or pesticides.

Abacá can be harvested year-round without damaging the plant. After harvesting, the fibres are processed into a fine pulp, spun into yarns and woven into a durable textile structure. Combined with GOTS-certified organic cotton, the result is a fabric with a soft touch, a naturally dry feel and lasting quality over time.
