Wow, I'm thrilled to have completed my three sessions as a defyhatenow's AffCam cohort 9 fellow! The cohort, which started in November 2023, was an incredible experience that empowered over 25 members of the 9th Cohort with skills in fact-checking, Data Journalism, and Digital rights. The program was designed to combat hate speech and curb the spread of misinformation and disinformation on social media, and I feel so grateful to have been a part of it.

During the fellowship, I had the latitude to organize several meetups to pass on knowledge, do fact-check articles, gain new skills, and expand my network with like-minded Fellows while gaining a new feel of the experience. It was truly amazing to connect with others who share the same passion for promoting peace and combating hate speech.

I owe utmost gratitude to the cohort 9 fellows ( ) Desmond Ngala, Donald Tchiengue, Boris-Karloff Batata (my mentor), Commy M***a, Vianney Forewah, , and , for their spectacular inputs during our fellowship sessions. Their insights and guidance were invaluable, and I learned so much from each of them.

Fact checking has always been a dream I never imagined to realize until I was selected for this year's AFFCAM cohort 9 sponsored by _r0g / agency for open culture and critical transformation . Starting with session one in Yaoundé, to the just ended session two last 13-15 in Douala, Desmond Ngala, Donald Tchiengue and a host of data experts drilled us various methods to fact check text, video, images and documents.

I'm excited to walk this journey with Masoma Boris-Karloff as my fact-checking and data Journalist mentor.

Indeed we can , misinformation, disinformation, malinformation and other vices that hinder peaceful communities.

Did you know your outfit can advocate peace!?

After investing several months planning Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fombah's wedding, ensuring the event's communication was top notch, likewise every other need, I thought of how best I could communicate my fervent wish for a peaceful and successful event. Then the nonverbal communication concept came in "your outfit can radiate peace," I thought

Adorned with my miraculous medal brochure, the event was entrusted to Mother Mary's care.

Like the Dove I am, peace is all we need. As such, I'm eager to advocate for peace in the simplest way I can. Prisca and Frank's wedding was another platform to instill peaceful thoughts in a merry event.
