Rising Hope Foundation for Change is currently organizing a holiday skills acquisition workshop in Bonadikombo Mile Four, Limbe, as part of its continued commitment to uplifting underprivileged youths and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) within the community.
The ongoing initiative is designed to provide young people with meaningful alternatives to idleness by equipping them with practical, income-generating skills, particularly in tailoring and other vocational areas. Through hands-on training, participants are being empowered to become self-reliant, economically productive, and better prepared for future opportunities in both formal and informal sectors.
Beyond vocational training, the workshop also features important life-skills education. Participants are actively engaged in sessions on the dangers of drug abuse, sexual and reproductive health, and menstrual hygiene management. These discussions aim to raise awareness, encourage responsible decision-making, and protect young people from social and health risks that disproportionately affect vulnerable communities.
Organizers emphasize that empowering youths with both practical skills and knowledge remains a key strategy in addressing challenges such as unemployment, poverty, and rising drug use among young people. By keeping participants meaningfully engaged, the programme helps redirect their energy toward personal growth, discipline, and community development.
The workshop further highlights the importance of using holiday periods as productive time for learning and self-improvement. Rather than engaging in harmful or unproductive activities, beneficiaries are encouraged to take full advantage of the training to build skills that can support long-term independence and stability.
Rising Hope Foundation for Change continues to serve as a source of hope and transformation for vulnerable groups, consistently implementing impactful programmes that restore dignity, build confidence, and promote sustainable development. Through ongoing initiatives like this, the foundation reaffirms its commitment to nurturing empowered, skilled, and responsible young people who can contribute positively to society.
