☕🌱 Nespresso × Mangrove Conservation Foundation (MCF) × REDO | From Coffee to Circular Life
On April 17 in Shenzhen, Nespresso and the Mangrove Conservation Foundation (MCF) joined forces to support the vision of a “Zero Waste City.” Together with sustainable innovation partner On the RISE, the initiative mobilizes public participation to recycle coffee grounds for composting—helping restore Shenzhen’s mangrove ecosystem while reducing urban waste and improving resource circulation.
As a pioneer in premium coffee and portioned coffee systems, Nespresso has long placed sustainability at the core of its strategy. Since 2015, the brand has operated a capsule recycling program in Mainland China, where used capsules are collected, separated, and transformed into new resources—giving materials a second life.
At the event, Re:Bloom | A Light Reborn made its first public offline appearance. Created by REDO Design, the concept draws inspiration from the Nespresso capsule recycling program—transforming recovered coffee grounds and aluminum shells into a biodegradable planting kit.
Guests assembled their own plant cups and planted seeds of new life, experiencing firsthand how recycled coffee capsules can become a carrier of growth and renewal.
From coffee to compost,
from recycling to regeneration—
a small capsule can inspire a cycle of sustainability.
