☕🌱 Nespresso × Mangrove Conservation Foundation (MCF) × REDO | From Coffee to Circular Life

On April 17 in Shenzhen, Nespresso and the Mangrove Conservation Foundation (MCF) joined forces to support the vision of a “Zero Waste City.” Together with sustainable innovation partner On the RISE, the initiative mobilizes public participation to recycle coffee grounds for composting—helping restore Shenzhen’s mangrove ecosystem while reducing urban waste and improving resource circulation.

As a pioneer in premium coffee and portioned coffee systems, Nespresso has long placed sustainability at the core of its strategy. Since 2015, the brand has operated a capsule recycling program in Mainland China, where used capsules are collected, separated, and transformed into new resources—giving materials a second life.

At the event, Re:Bloom | A Light Reborn made its first public offline appearance. Created by REDO Design, the concept draws inspiration from the Nespresso capsule recycling program—transforming recovered coffee grounds and aluminum shells into a biodegradable planting kit.

Guests assembled their own plant cups and planted seeds of new life, experiencing firsthand how recycled coffee capsules can become a carrier of growth and renewal.

From coffee to compost,
from recycling to regeneration—
a small capsule can inspire a cycle of sustainability.

🌸 FILA × REDO | A Spring Bloom in the Heart of Shanghai

At the FILA F-BOX “Hall of Kings” flagship store in Shanghai Xintiandi, FILA partnered with REDO Design to create a spring floral installation for the city — reimagining Shanghai’s native flowers through sustainable materials.

This immersive display transforms recycled materials into a blooming urban landscape, telling a story about nature and city life, sustainability and elegance.

The installation stood out among many works and was awarded the Silver Award for Most Popular Floral Window Display at the Shanghai International Flower Show, warmly embraced by visitors and the local community.

🌿 Elegance in Motion — Sustainability in Design

Founded in 1911 in the Italian town of Biella, FILA blends athletic heritage with refined elegance. Today, the brand continues to explore the meaning of beauty beyond performance.

🌏 Since 2023, FILA has championed its “From Nature To Nature” sustainability initiative.
🌱 In 2024, the brand launched the “Nature Echo” campaign on Earth Day.
🎯 With a goal that 50% of products will be sustainable by 2030.

This spring installation reflects that commitment — where creativity meets environmental responsibility and sustainability becomes part of the modern sports lifestyle.

🌼 Shared Values Behind the Collaboration

As the 52nd certified B Corp in Mainland China, REDO focuses on sustainable creative solutions that communicate the deeper meaning of environmental responsibility through design.

This collaboration represents more than a visual installation — it reflects a shared commitment to sustainable values:

✔ Expanding the meaning of sports aesthetics — where beauty includes respect for nature.
✔ Enhancing green consumer experiences through immersive natural environments.
✔ Encouraging sustainable lifestyles within everyday urban spaces.
✔ Activating cultural ecosystems through sustainable public art.

🐍 REDO × Park Hyatt Shanghai | A Lunar New Year Calendar Inspired by Long-Termism

What does a “long-termism” calendar look like?

When long-term thinking becomes more than a trend, objects are no longer defined by their immediate use. Instead, they evolve within cycles — renewed, repurposed, and reborn.

This Lunar New Year of the Snake, Park Hyatt Shanghai partnered with REDO, together with Nespresso, to create a sustainable New Year desk calendar. Crafted from recycled capsules and thoughtfully sourced materials, the project delivers festive wishes while embodying a vision for circular design.

🍊 Calendar Pages | Citrus Paper

The pages are made from a blend of:
15% fruit residue, 40% recycled pulp, and 45% virgin pulp.

The raw materials include citrus peels, lavender, corn, olives, coffee grounds, kiwi, hazelnuts, almonds, and other plant by-products recovered from landfill streams. These natural residues are transformed into textured paper with distinctive tactility and vitality.

A second life for nature — held in your hands.

☕ Base | Recycled Aluminum

The metal base is crafted from recycled aluminum sourced from Nespresso’s capsule recycling program in China. Collected coffee capsules are sorted and melted down, then reprocessed into new aluminum structures.

Each base weighs approximately 210.98 grams — equivalent to the recycled aluminum from around 1,000 Original Line capsules.

Time is supported by material renewal.

🧧 Felt Wrap | Recycled PET

The vibrant red outer wrap is made from recycled PET plastic bottles, transformed into eco-friendly polyester felt. Designed not just as festive packaging, it can be reused as a functional everyday storage pouch.

New Year. New cycle. Continued purpose.

This is not simply a desk calendar.

It is a statement about time, responsibility, and regeneration.

When design participates in circular systems,
and celebration carries intention,
long-termism takes form.

♻️REDO new recycled materials 丨FrostStone
❄️ When FrostStone meets fragrance products, it will collide a feast of sight and smell ❄️
In the continuous search and development of new recycled materials, we have found such a material, which has a pure white appearance and cool marble-like texture, smooth and exquisite texture, looks quiet and elegant, so we named it - FrostStone.
FrostStone was born from the chemical reaction between carbon capture and water in the CCUS industry. The simplicity and purity of the raw material, coupled with its extreme water absorbency, makes it an excellent choice for use as a diffuser stone.️

♻REDO Design Bena Chair and Stool|Recycled Plastic Chair
REDO Recycled Furniture One Hundred Nano Series: Continuing the concept of sustainable regeneration, we have created a new furniture series, which is also a continuation of REDO's sustainable lifestyle section. The concept of "Hundred Nano" originates from the Hundred Diamonds, and although the concept of recycling and sustainable design is a matter of concern for various fields at present, the concept of recycling has been commonly used in the ancient times of China. Although the concept of recycling and sustainable development is currently a concern in various fields, the concept of recycling has been commonly used in China since ancient times. For every young person who grows up in a frugal Chinese family, he or she has heard of "a hundred garments" and "a hundred meals". Monks in the Qing Dynasty used to pick up old and fragmented pieces of cloth discarded by others, and after washing them clean, they would make them into "a hundred-diamond garments" by sewing and assembling them. Hundred lines also refers to the use of scattered materials to integrate a complete set of things.
This is exactly the same as REDO's current concept and method of sustainable recycling, which is to develop and integrate recycled materials in a design-in approach, reshape the materials into a new life, and reduce the generation of waste materials in the production process.
The Banner Chair Party is made from a combination of recycled plastic panels and recycled aluminum metal, with the plastic panels coming from the UPE plastic of the waste run.
