On November 21, 2024, the "Into Ethiopia-2024 Global Linen Textile Forum" hosted by the Ethiopian Investment Authority was held in Addis Ababa. The forum attracted more than 180 delegates from around the world and aimed to promote the sustainable development and market competitiveness of the linen industry.
The Director General of the Ethiopian Investment commission shared the country's investment environment and opening policies for foreign-funded enterprises at the forum.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kingdom Holdings highlighted the global status of linen and the importance of sustainable development, and mentioned that Kingdom's investment in Ethiopia has reached $70 million. Representatives of the European Linen and H**p Alliance, the China H**p Textile Industry Association and the Japan H**p Textile Association spoke on the traceability and transparency of European linen, the importance of industry cooperation, and the sustainable development of h**p fiber in Japan.A representative of Kingdom (Ethiopia) Linen Company shared the company's ESG journey.
During the round-table discussion, industry leaders discussed the challenges and opportunities facing the linen textile industry. During the forum, delegates also visited Kingdom (Ethiopia) Linen Co., Ltd., one of the largest and technologically advanced linen spinning mills in Africa. At this meeting, Kingdom announced the launch of the Egyptian Linen Spinning Project in March 2025, with the possibility of launching the Egyptian Linen Weaving and Dyeing Project in the future.
The forum provided an open platform for communication and constructive solutions for the future development of the flax industry.

Working Hasegawa Co., Ltd. has collaborated with Chaintope Inc. to introduce DPP (Digital Product Passport) into the "Sukui" brand to enhance global sustainability standards, and supply chain transparency, and build a new sustainable system.

Sukui brand features:
Utilizing eco-friendly h**p materials: Sukui uses KINGDOM TEXTILE’s h**p fabric as the main material. This material can effectively reduce carbon emissions in the atmosphere during the planting process, does not require water resources and pesticides, and is beneficial to soil health.
Circular economy design: Product design focuses on resource conservation and sustainability. It cooperates with weavearth to reduce the use of petroleum-based materials, dyeing before sewing to reduce material waste, and plans to provide product recycling and composting.

DPP System Overview:
Environmental Information Management: The DPP system uses blockchain technology to record carbon emissions and material traceability throughout the product life cycle, providing reliable environmental data to consumers and business partners.
QR Code Access: Sukui products are attached with QR code labels, and consumers can easily access the environmental traceability information of the product by scanning the QR code. It is planned to demonstrate this function at the World Expo in November 2024, and the demonstration experiment is planned to be completed by the end of February 2025.
