A teleport to the end of the road - right at the starting line.

We’ve all seen a strong project stall over an abstract gray massing. The client couldn’t bridge the imagination gap, and the momentum evaporated right there.

Gray box in, glimpse out - generated locally in Blender in seconds. Even if you never show these previews to anyone, you get to see exactly where the path might lead.

At the end of May, I had the pleasure of speaking at the Rhino User Meeting 2026 at the Faculty of Architecture, CTU in Prague, where I discussed the symbiosis within the ecosystem of Rhinoceros and Blender. My presentation mapped a journey that began in 2012-tracking the evolution of my work from pure 3D modeling and physical construction to algorithmic programming.
Preparing for this talk forced me to revisit an early personal thesis. I have always believed in cultivating expertise on multiple parallel levels. Rather than confining myself to a single traditional lane-whether strictly architectural design, visualization, or computation-I chose the path of synthesis. The goal was never to become a generalist, but to dive deep into each discipline and master its technical realities.
In structural terms, I was building a multi-legged framework. Each pillar stands independently on its own rigorous foundation, yet together they form a resilient system. If one variable or market dynamic shifts, the overarching structure remains unshakeable.
This strategy was set in motion long before modern AI began reshaping the digital landscape. Seeing how rapidly automated tools now pe*****te specialized industries, this multi-disciplinary approach feels more validated than ever. True resilience doesn’t come from a single skill, but from the mastery of where they intersect.

... I've been experimenting with AI in our field - trying to evaluate, honestly and critically, whether any of it is actually useful for the way we work. I've sat through the workshops. The early Automatic1111 + ControlNet days were essentially long sessions of filling in parameters and hoping the output resembled your input. ComfyUI made it much nicer - genuinely flexible, real potential - but it's still a rig you have to learn and maintain. Cloning repos, command lines, dependency hunting, an evening gone before the first image.

At some point I realized that for one very specific, very common task, I didn't want any of that ceremony. The task: I've blocked out a massing model, and I want to show the idea rather than a gray box. Not a final render. A fast, readable concept - shape and light, a few seconds, without leaving Blender.

So I built the thing I wanted. DraftCraft captures your viewport, takes the exact depth from your geometry and runs a local Stable Diffusion XL pipeline with a depth ControlNet. The result holds your massing and perspective. It runs entirely on your own GPU - nothing uploaded, no credits, no subscription.

And the setup: There is nothing to clone, nothing to compile, no command line. You install the add-on, click two buttons (engine, models), and it lives inside your 3D software from then on, offline. All the plumbing is still there - it's just not your problem anymore. Honestly, even if Blender weren't your main tool, exporting a massing into it just for this would be a perfectly reasonable workflow....

Neither of these replaces a visualizer, and neither replaces the concept sketch you draw with your own hand and head - the judgment and intent aren't in here. The output is 1024×1024 and it is a concept image, full stop. I'd rather you be pleasantly surprised than disappointed.

Still - and I say this as someone who's usually the skeptic in the room - the distance from "gray box" to "usable concept" collapsing to a few seconds hasn't stopped feeling like a small piece of magic to me. Low-res, imperfect, not art. But it's there before you finish your coffee, and it's yours, on your machine....

A client meeting in an hour, and all you have in 3D is a rough massing model. A scenario we all know too well from practice.

I have been experimenting with AI in architecture and digital design for the past four years. I have followed the technological evolution - from tweaking ControlNet parameters in Automatic1111 to building complex visual graphs in ComfyUI. While the results were promising, the process was time-consuming, mainly due to the continuous learning required by such rapid development.

Tools should simplify your workflow, not add technical overhead. That’s why we at PARAMETR STUDIO built DraftCraft - a solution that delivers local AI concept renders directly inside your viewport, with zero setup friction.

Turn a massing model into a concept visualization in under 10 seconds. Runs 100% locally on your NVIDIA GPU — your designs never leave your machine. Exact geometry-driven depth. No cloud, no credits.

From utopian, organic geometries to the hard reality of the 1970s.
My latest project in Blender Geometry Nodes represents a radical shift in aesthetics, yet it shares the exact same underlying complexity as my previous experimental work. It explores a completely different pole of what generative architecture can mean.
As an architect, shifting from parametric design (Rhino/Grasshopper) to pure procedurality has been eye-opening. The generation speed of entire structural systems is enormous. Instead of designing a singular, static building, I am designing the systemic rules of how a building constructs itself based on a simple input mass.
This 1970s Administrative Archetype is my first foundational template. It translates real-world construction logic—a reinforced concrete skeleton and a lightweight curtain wall—into an instant, adaptable node system.
The future of procedural architecture is a wide-open frontier, and this is the starting point. I am releasing this template for free to support the community, spark discussion, and serve as an educational stepping stone.
