For Neu Romance_, our Biella Yarn FW27/28 flat knitting collection, design partner ZHIWU transformed the collection’s yarns into knitted garments inspired by observations from the natural world.

🩵 glaciers and oceans

Inspired by the symbiosis of yarns and technologies, the designs explore yarn as a meeting point between nature, the human body and textile technology.

ZHIWU x Biella Yarn

For our Biella Yarn FW27/28 flat knitting collection ”Neu Romance_”, our design partner ZHIWU brought the yarns to life through their creative interpretation around the concept of “symbiosis”.

Drawing inspiration from natural ecosystems, the designs reveal connections between textures, structures and materials.

We were happy to contribute our yarn for Spazio Ricerca (“research space”) at last week. This edition explored the theme “Discipline”, with three categories inspired by different horse-riding disciplines: Dressage, Reining and Obstacle.

Inspired by show jumping, the Obstacle theme reinterprets the colours and graphic elements of competition courses and technical riding wear. In this piece, created with our 100% Merino flat knitting yarn Victoria 2/30, stripes and colour blocking became a visual interpretation of the obstacles themselves.

On this year’s Fashion Revolution Day, we want to focus on the people and roles that contribute to our finished yarns across the full process – which goes beyond the actual production itself.

Meet two of our colleagues at Da Lat Worsted Spinning Ltd., our spinning mill in Vietnam, who play a valuable role in keeping that process safe, compliant and running smoothly: Bui Viet Hung, our Health & Safety Specialist, and Mai Quynh Giao, our Technical Purchasing Supervisor.
