Donna Hartley Millinery was born of a long, close friendship. Originally from Yorkshire, Donna studied Fashion Design at Batley Art College and went on to work for wedding dress designer Beverly Summers. Donna found she enjoyed and had a talent for creating head-pieces. This inspired her to return to college to specialise in the art of Millinery. After Millinery College, Donna was o
ffered a position with Herald & Heart Hatters of London. During her time there she had the opportunity to design a collection for a number of prestigious customers including the Royal Ascot Corporation. She also developed her creative skills by working on a number of promotional projects for large corporate clients. Donna’s hats have featured in a number of magazines including Hello and Shropshire Life. Donna eventually moved away from London to develop her own bespoke millinery business in Shrewsbury and more recently to Spain. She has a real love and passion for hats and continues to design and create on a daily basis for both personal and corporate clients. Joanne Temperley Jones, with her individual artistic and creative flair has slotted right into millinery under Donna’s guidance and expertise. Joanne has created numerous murals and original pieces over the years; a testament to her ability and vision. Her natural talent and sheer determination has enabled Joanne to transition seamlessly into millinery and she soon proved her prowess in fashioning some spectacular pieces. Together we are Donna Hartley Millinery, based in the idyllic mountain region of Murcia, Spain. Our unique style has the quintessential British flair, whilst our natural surroundings, the Spanish flamboyancy and culture inspire and complement our quirky individuality. We bounce off each other, have heaps of fun; it never feels like “work”, as we navigate through the days and nights, they merge into a myriad of innovative occasions.
