Then the open class...
My god it was fast and hard. The level was high and good drivers were more plenty than ever before. Never have I been so exhausted with consentration after a final as I was after the last A-main trying to defend another, second place finish for full 8 minutes. The 4wd and lipo cars were frighteningly fast and this was the first time ever I took all possible power to use a Mini-z with Kyosho board can offer. A car that powerful with aggressive front grip of v1-F20 takes tons and tons of concentration to keep on the optimal racing line.
The race was lost to Thomas Robin already in the friday practice. It was a fight that couldn't be won against the 4wd on this fast track, but I'm 100% happy to still in the end to be able to climb to be the fastest 2wd car and do that in a simple Kyosho Mini-z. Probably for the last time in history.
The setup was pretty much as with the stock car apart from a few differences. Front tires were the even grippier v1-F20, the car was stretched to 100mm with a custom fiberglass motor pod "batman" plate. Non-existent ride height of 0.5mm front and 1mm rear. Travel inwards was limited so that the shocks bottom just as the chassis starts to touch ground so that weight will always stay on tires.
