Based in Finland, FinnskaFelt is a family owned enterprise that initiated from a hobby, which was born out of love for the felting and care for the people. The beginning of the story reaches far back to the 60' into the home corner of a 5-year-old girl Irja, who spent much of her time hand-sewing clothes for all her dolls from recycled fabrics. Her passion for clothmaking led her to work in an sew

ing atelier in her teen years. After giving birth to her first child Viktoria, she took a day-job at the electronics factory where she spent working most of her lifetime, keeping the sewing as a hobby of her daily life. Her second child Kristina took part in many of the creations she was occupied with. Only much later in life, while Kristina became a shepherd's helper in the Austrian Alps' farm, Irja discovered the felting method back in their homeland as the means to create conscious lifestyle footwear. To this day, together with her enthusiastic daughter whom Irja formed a FinnskaFelt team with, the two women are passionate about investing into ecological choices, high quality and people oriented approach.

ecological and personalised handfelted wool slippers! The slippers are designed to provide comfort and promote well-being for your feet all year round. They are made from high quality 100% Finnsheep wool using the traditional wet felting method that involves only hands, hot water and soap in the process. The slippers are comfortable and durable ~ they all come with hand-stitched genuine leather outsoles and the woolen insoles for extra softness and warmth. Our production is customised according to our clients' needs and preferences because people's tastes and foot shapes are different. Each pair of slippers is unique and cannot be precisely identical with another.
