Another very creative afternoon workshop with botanicals. We made a lovely selection of dishes and pinch pots using flowers and leaves that the ladies brought along from their gardens.
These will be bisque fired and then the underglaze colours will be added before glazing and the final firing.

This afternoon’s workshop was creating jugs. All the same shape but with different shaped handles and very unique and artistic designs.
We mixed up some different shades of green so it will be interesting to see how they look when they’ve been glazed.

I had a fantastic weekend at the marché de potiers at Ger.. despite the poor weather ☔️ a lovely crowd turned out on Sunday and purchased some of my favourite creations, so thank you to all my customers.
Even though I was extremely tired today, I couldn’t wait to get into my atelier to create this whimsical pumpkin.
I made it using earthenware clay and have left the body of the pumpkin unpainted so it will be a lovely creamy colour when glazed.
I’m going to be holding some workshops so you can come and create one too!
I think it will need to be a day session with a lunch break in between. Creating the shape and adding the details in the morning and adding the colours after lunch. (You would bring your own packed lunch).
You could create a traditional style pumpkin with leaves and stalk (without the mouse and door etc) and colour it orange.
It will be 50€ per person (hot drinks supplied by Ian 🤗).
If you are interested then let me know and I will pick some dates.
Maximum 4 people per session.

The very courageous bénévoles here at Ger are in the process of constructing the kilns ready to load with pottery for this evening’s Soirée feu 🔥.
This year the theme is Animaux Fantastiques so the kilns will be created on this theme. The dragon head looks amazing !
The marché closes at 8pm but the soirée continues to midnight.

All set up and ready to welcome the crowds at Ger (50) .
Hoping the wind gusts and rain will settle as we are here until 8pm this evening and then 10am - 6pm tomorrow.

As autumn is on its way, I am thinking a little ahead…how about creating your own pumpkin decoration..something similar to these.
These are ideas that I have generated with AI but I will have a go at creating my own style next week…🎃🎃🎃🍁🍂🍄

Sig Natrott and myself had a relaxing afternoon adding colour to a bisque fired wreath and oversized coffee mug. The mug is made from earthenware clay and the wreath is made from stoneware clay.
The wreath will not be glazed and will look similar to the second photo once it has been fired.
We had time to create small ghost cats and pumpkins in earthenware clay which we then painted with underglazes. They will be bisque fired and glazed.
It feels like autumn already so pumpkins were a great choice to make.
