Our latest collaboration with Ink Dwell celebrates an icon of the Galápagos Islands famous for its spectacularly blue feet: the Blue-footed B***y. ⁠

This shoe is inspired by one of Ink Dwell’s most beloved murals, the “Wall of Birds.” Of all 243 birds on the wall, we chose to highlight the Blue-footed B***y because it is the bird with our favorite footwear. ⁠

To make this shoe, we spent two years turning Ink Dwell’s series of illustrations, which capture this famed bird’s amusing yet much-loved mating dance, into an embroidered, wearable masterpiece consisting of nearly 200,000 stitch points. ⁠This kind of thing just isn’t done!

Our newest shoe celebrates an icon of the Galápagos Islands famous for its spectacularly blue feet: the Blue-footed B***y! ⁠

To make this shoe, Ink Dwell created a series of illustrations that capture this famed bird’s goofy yet beloved mating dance, which we then had the absolutely insane idea to turn into embroidery through nearly 200,000 stitch points (and two years of labor and love). Scroll through to see the art! ⁠

In 2019, Le Mondeur teamed up with Ink Dwell to transform their art into an embroidered, wearable masterpiece: the Monarch in Moda. Well, folks, we’ve done it again, and this time we really outdid ourselves. Get ready for another one-of-a-kind (truly) shoe that blurs the line between art and fashion. Oh, and it also supports important wildlife conservation efforts. Drops April 7. ⁠

If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll remember Ink Dwell from our Monarch in Moda shoe collaboration, which brought to life its namesake mural through over 50,000 embroidery stitch points. Our Monarch in Moda shoe required an insane amount of technical and artisanal development to create the embroidery, and the result far exceeded our expectations. This in turn emboldened us to go a step (or three) further for our next collaboration with Ink Dwell. Ready to see what nearly 200,000 embroidery stitch points look like? Fall is coming to a close soon. Time to trade in the slip ons for high tops. All of our shoes hold up really well in weather and the leather lining helps keep your feet toasty when it's chilly outside, so fear not!
