WHEN NATURE INSPIRES KNITTING AND CROCHET WEARABLE ART HAPPENS.
I absolutely need to escape regularly from Paris to find the vegetal textures of nature.I have an addiction to chlorophyl and there is no drip for that.
Then I go in my norman country house where I have created a garden with clipped boss,holly and yew,so you think to a classical garden "à la française"except than in the border you find strange,enormous exotic plants.I work specially with the shapes and colors of leaves,it looks like an architectural obsession.This work in the garden has inspired all my other works.
When knitting or crocheting I try to represent the differents textures of plants and flowers,pistils,stamens,petals,the down on or under a leaf.Do you know some plants have red or black leaves.Paintings of flowers and nature inspire me too,I think to the Douanier Rousseau paintings,rich of strange and monstruous species.
