I dug my ongoing hand quilt project out this afternoon. I’ve been working on this since December last year. It hasn’t had much done to it for a few months now.

It hasn’t been a project born out of a really crummy moment. There are parts of it I’m not completely happy with but that is part of the process and what this work represents to me.

I’m not really sure what has made me reach for it again just now but I’m going to lean into that.

I plan to write something about this piece. At some point. Maybe. If it feels right. For now, I’m leaning into the feel of the cloth and the rhythm of the stitches.

I’ve had a few wonderful days away with family. Nairn you did not disappoint. Of course I still managed to find some time for crafting- friendship bracelets on the beach 👌

It’s been a rollercoaster of a weekend. Every time launch comes around I think it might be the time everyone has done all the sewing they want to and no one wants a class any more.

Crikey did you prove me wrong…. Monday Project evenings went in 5 minutes.

I cannot thank everyone who has booked a place enough. There are still lots of classes available for all levels so check out the website for details of workshops to keep you nice and busy and creative over the Autumn/ Winter season.

Always fancied having a go at Punch Needle but not been sure where to start? Or have you needed up with a kit and it all just doesn’t seem to work or come together?

My Introduction to Punch Needle Class is for you.

Join me on Saturday 23rd May, 10-1.30pm at my studio at Deemouth Artist Studios Torry for a full introduction to this gorgeous craft.

I will take you through the materials and tools involved and how to match these for success. From there you will have the chance to pick a design, or do one yourself if you are feeling really creative. I’ll take you through different stitches and techniques to create a gorgeous punch needle piece.

All tools and materials required will be provided. You will come away with your finished piece in an embroidery hoop. We will be using Oxford Punch Needle tools in class and if you decide you love it, I will have a selection of tools and additional materials available to buy.
