Some lovely dresses worked on over last few months. The pink dress needed taking up at shoulder straps and in at bustline/ sideseams as well as shortening.
The purple dress required taking in at top edge neckline, taking out at hip area, shortening, reattaching and adding beads and a new panel for back of dress under the lacing.

I have been so busy of late that I have been neglecting posting some of my work.
These coats have all had their sleeves shortened.
The brown coat had bell shaped sleeves so I had to slim them down considerably as well as shorten.
The red coat has had another button added a chest line as customer felt it was too low. This meant reshaping the reveres ( lower part of collar). Lucky there was a spare button inside the coat. I also added raglan shoulder pads.
Now these coats can be worn instead of stuck in cupboards.

I get all sorts of alterations and repairs here at the shop( my home sewing room).
Recently I had a keen fisherman needing a pair of waterproof bib and brace overalls shortening.
I wanted to keep the lower section intact as it had a fancy godet and velcro at the hem as well as the printed words so I took the length out above the knee.
Here is a photo of 1/2 way through the project.
I needed to seal the seams with waterproof tape to prevent leakage of water inside.

This week’s alteration was this stunning satin wedding gown. I had to reduce the bodice by 1 and 1/2 sizes, shorten the length and create a pretty waistband that forms a bow at the back.
The bride looked so beautiful in it. She gave me permission to post but not her name yet as the wedding is not until July.

Cuff alteration and side pockets added to this lovely dress.
The cuff was the wrong shape to sit further up the arm so I removed it and using the old cuff I reshaped it to have a larger opening and conical shape.
Comfortable side pockets added for a relaxed look.
