We recently asked Coorie Woodshop to create the Scottish oak presentation boxes for our limited-edition Bannockburn sporrans, and we couldn’t be happier with the finished result.

Beautifully handcrafted here in Scotland by military veteran Kevin, the quality of the workmanship and attention to detail is exactly what we wanted to complement something as special as the Bannockburn.

Kevin also creates bespoke military medal boxes, personalised with regimental and service insignia, as shown in the second photograph. I know we have a number of veterans amongst our Oorlich customers and followers, so I thought his work would be particularly worth sharing.

If you’re looking for a bespoke presentation box, medal box, personalised gift or something completely individual, have a look at

“A huge thanks to Kevin — absolutely delighted with the finished boxes and very happy to recommend his work.”

The finishing touches to the Bannockburn.

The individually numbered presentation boxes for our Bannockburn Limited Edition are now complete. Handcrafted in Falkirk, Scotland, from Scottish oak, each has been individually engraved for its Bannockburn sporran.

With only five Bannockburn sporrans ever to be made, each box carries its individual number and has been created to become part of the piece itself — something to keep long after the box is first opened.

Inside the lid, an engraved dedication honours Robert I, King of Scots, and the courage and vision that secured Scotland’s victory at Bannockburn on 24 June 1314.

We wanted the presentation of the Bannockburn to be every bit as special as the sporran it holds.

Five only. Never to be repeated.

Some creations begin with a sketch. Others begin with a story.

The Bannockburn belongs firmly in the latter.

Inspired by the legacy of Robert the Bruce and brought to life through traditional Scottish craftsmanship, only five Bannockburn sporrans will ever be created.

The full story behind the inspiration, design and craftsmanship is now live on the Oorlich Designs website.

After a long absence from the Highland wear market, the traditional copper-coloured Highland cow — an enduring symbol seen throughout Scotland — has returned in the form of a striking new dress sporran, complete with a beautifully crafted Highland cow cantle.

A true celebration of Scottish heritage, this distinctive sporran combines rugged Highland character with timeless craftsmanship. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted using premium brown saddle leather, a luxurious rich brown suede lining, and matching Highland cow tassel bells. Available with either two or three tassels, with matching or contrasting finishes, it creates a sporran that is both elegant and unmistakably Scottish.

Bannockburn — No. 1 of 5. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We couldn’t resist sharing this wonderful photograph sent to us by Stan, the owner of the very first Oorlich Designs Bannockburn Sporran.

Stan is an accomplished artist and portrays Robert the Bruce for Historic Scotland, so we could hardly have wished for a more fitting home for No. 1.

His photograph captures beautifully the history and inspiration behind the design — created in honour of Robert the Bruce and the great Scottish victory at Bannockburn in 1314.

Only five individually numbered Bannockburn Sporrans will ever be made.

We think No. 1 has found exactly the right home.

🇺🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 250 YEARS. 13 COLONIES. 13 SPORRANS.

Last year, on the 4th of July, an idea began.

With 2026 marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence, I wanted to create something very special — just 13 Raccoon Sporrans, one representing each of the original thirteen colonies that declared independence in 1776.

This short film tells the story behind that idea, the details hidden within each sporran, the craftsmanship that brought them to life, and the journey they have made from Scotland to America.
It has been quite exciting along the way.

I’m delighted to share the very first video on the new Oorlich Designs YouTube channel.

From Oilskins to Oorlich | The Tachum Story tells the story of how a simple idea at the Highland Games led to the creation of the world’s first waxed cotton kilt jacket.

If you enjoy Scottish history, Highland wear and the stories behind our designs, I’d be honoured if you would watch, like and subscribe.
