The finished skirt got its debut at both a 30th and a wedding yesterday. I received so many compliments on it.

Made from an old pair of shorts and a wedding dress (or would have been if my girls had let me cut it up! I had to buy new tulle and keep the dress for them to wear at their weddings!!)

Finished.
For now. I was aware when I made it that the mesh wouldn’t be allowed in competitions. So if it is to become a comp leo, I will change the mesh for white lycra. I wanted to try to copy one that I’d seen, for experience and fun.

Today I have spent hours stitching the armholes and redoing the neck band three times until I was satisfied. This involves overlocking a very fine strip of mesh onto the very fine mesh of the leotard. And then top stitching the fine mesh so it’s flush.

Sewing elastic into the leg holes and keyhole back. This involves overlocking the elastic to the edge as you stretch it....
