The Crawford-Fisher wedding - April 2026

I had the pleasure of altering Aimée’s bridesmaids dresses early this year. The girls all looked gorgeous and these dresses were beautiful.

Hi everyone!
I’m Danielle, a seamstress and wardrobe girlie from the West End. I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself.

For the past 14 years, I’ve been working in wardrobe across both the West End and various locations around the country. Sewing has been my passion since childhood, thanks to my nan who taught me the craft.

Over the years, I’ve always altered my own clothes and gradually began taking on alterations for friends and family. As more friends started tying the knot, I’ve had the pleasure of altering wedding gowns and bridesmaids’ dresses among many other items. It’s such a fulfilling experience to see how a perfect fit can transform not just the item but the person wearing it too.

Altering multiple bridesmaid’s dresses means I have to label each one for both my benefit but also the customer.

A small embroidered initial for each of the girls adds a special touch, but also helps eliminate any confusion on the day. Each dress is altered specifically to them so the initial makes sure that they all know exactly which one is theirs.

Sometimes you just need to change the fastening...

How a small change makes a big difference in fit and style.

I love how this turned out for the beautiful bride. A corset back gives you a bit of playing room when doing up the dress for all round comfort throughout the day.

A moment for these beautiful wedding dresses.

When your best friend comes to you for wedding dress alterations, there is no other answer.

Alteration consultation -
The evening dress needed taking in at the back and up at the shoulders. Her nan’s dress was too big on the bust but slightly too tight at the waist. Then her daughter’s dresses just needed a little raise at the shoulder straps to stop them sliding and the bows secured.

These small adjustments make all the difference for the perfect fit.

Holiday mode was very much activated!

I have just got back from a much needed week away and I’d been looking forward to wearing this set since I made it.

When it comes to packing, I am very organised and love being able to take items that I have made away with me. Especially those that are comfortable and easy to throw on/off. I love how they can be worn as a pair and separates (I am all for mixing and matching).

This co-ord has been in the making for a while and waiting for its outing. I made the shirt a few years ago, then finally got around to making some matching shorts last year.

It is safe to say that I will be making more matching items with the left over fabric… watch this space!

In November I opened The Hunger Games on Stage.
Press night’s are always a chance to dress up, but this one felt special.

I altered a dress I already had, but added an extra bit of Capitol style for the occasion.

Last year two of my closest friends got married.

We all work in wardrobe, but planning a wedding AND altering your bridesmaid dresses is just too much.

That’s where I come in.. I had the pleasure of altering dresses for both weddings, thank you both for asking me to help with your special days.
