Every time I see a sale (and it doesn’t matter if it’s jewellery, clothes, homeware, books, Christmas wrapping paper, dying house plants, etc) I just HAVE to look and see if I can find a bargain. I was thrilled to spot these square statement earrings in H&M, down from £8.99! My husband hates them, but I am obsessed (I guess they are like ) ... what do YOU think?!

If my last post made you shiver (just from looking at those jean shorts), don’t worry: I am well-equipped for the cold weather! This is another one of my bargain finds from the Vintage Kilo Sale... FUN FACT, it’s actually a men’s coat! They don’t segregate their clothes and coats by gender (and neither should you) - you can find some great pieces, if you’re willing to experiment!

If you like a bargain, you HAVE to visit your local when they come around. I find all of my favourite pieces (like this bedazzled jacket, pictured) for £15/kilo OR capped at £15 for a heavy item. It’s good for the environment and it’s good for your purse!

If you’ve never been to a vintage kilo sale, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? They are a mobile market (likely stopping in your hometown) and have something for everyone including sequin partywear, great quality denims and corduroys, branded tees, accessories... the list is endless. And, the best part is, you pay per kilo, so lightweight items are SO affordable.

My favourite one is because they cap their heavy coats and jackets at £15, so I am currently the proud of three woolly winter warmers and two rhinestone denim beauties, for a smidge of high-street prices. 🤩Comment below if you’d like to see them in my next post!

So, I am a lover of all things vintage-looking and vintage-inspired. My personal style flowers from finding funky or unusual statement items (often in a secondhand shop) and then working them into my everyday wardrobe. I wanted to use this account to document any treasures I locate along the way and share them with other quirky fashion fanatics!

Vrai/Faux Vintage came to me when I was stood in H&M, falling in love with their chunky plastic earrings display and wondering who else I could possibly shout about this to, so they could enjoy the aesthetic/purchase some pairs. I hope my page inspires others to experiment with retro and vintage styles from the high-street, as well as explore their local markets, vintage fairs and charity shops! 🛍
