💚 We Are Barnardo’s Week – Day 2 💚

🔄 Swap Shop Success! 🔄

Our Swap Shop has been a fantastic addition to We Are Barnardo’s Week, and we’ve been swapping and shopping all day long! 🎉

The idea is simple… children can bring in one item and swap it for another – completely free! It’s a brilliant way to give toys, books and games a new home while enjoying something different in return.

Not only is it great fun, but it’s also a fantastic way to reuse, reduce waste and help the environment too! 🌍♻️

There’s still plenty to choose from, so if you’ve got a toy, game or book that’s no longer getting much use, bring it along and see what treasures you can swap it for!

Come and join in the fun as we continue celebrating We Are Barnardo’s Week! 💚

Mondays are traditionally known as Blue Monday… but not here at Barnardo’s! 💚

To celebrate We Are Barnardo’s Week, our fantastic team have all come to work wearing green to show their pride in being part of such an incredible charity and to celebrate the amazing work Barnardo’s does for children, young people and families across the UK.

A huge thank you to every member of our team for getting involved and helping make today extra special. We think they’re looking pretty good in green! 💚

Next week we’re joining Barnardo’s stores across the country in celebrating We Are Barnardo’s Week – a chance to celebrate our amazing charity and the incredible work it does to support children, young people and families. 💚

We’ve got some exciting activities planned here at Barnardo’s Brierley Hill, and we’d love for you to get involved!

🔄 Swap Shop
Have your children got toys, books or games they’ve outgrown? Bring them along and swap them for something “new to you” from our Swap Shop table outside the store – completely FREE! It’s a great way to recycle, reduce waste and discover a new favourite.

🎨 Colouring Competition
Calling all little artists! Pick up a colouring sheet in store, take it home to create your masterpiece, then bring it back with your name and phone number to be entered into our competition! 🖍️

We’ll also be displaying all of the fantastic artwork around the store for everyone to enjoy! 🌈

💚 Go Green!
Throughout the week, our team will be wearing green to celebrate Barnardo’s and show our pride in being part of such an amazing charity.

☀️ Summer Donation Campaign Update! 🌴

Just over 2 weeks ago, we introduced our Summer Giving Tree to help support children and young people through Barnardo’s this summer.

Our customers have been able to choose a tag to fund a summer essential:

💚 £3 Tag – A sun hat or water bottle to help keep a child cool and hydrated.
💚 £5 Tag – Sun cream or a lunchbox to help children enjoy a safe and fun summer.

Well… thanks to your incredible generosity, we’re delighted to share that…

🎉 In just 15 days, you have helped raise an amazing £308 from the 88 tags that have been purchased! 🎉

We are absolutely blown away by the kindness of our customers. Every tag purchased will help provide practical items that can make a real difference to children and families supported by Barnardo’s this summer.

From everyone here at Barnardo’s Brierley Hill, thank you. Your continued support means the world to us, and every donation—no matter the size—helps us continue supporting children, young people and families when they need it most. 💚

💚 Meet Sheila! 💚

Over the last few weeks, you may have seen our Celebrating Our Young Volunteers series, where we shone a spotlight on the amazing young people who give up their time to support our store.

Well today, we’re celebrating someone at the other end of the spectrum… our oldest volunteer! 😊

Meet Sheila! 👋

At 83 years young, Sheila is an absolute legend here at Barnardo’s Brierley Hill. For nearly 10 years, she has been a much-loved member of our Friday team, and week in, week out, she can be found filling her famous Lucky Dip box.

Her Lucky Dips have become a firm favourite with the children of Brierley Hill, and she’s dedicated countless hours to making sure every one is packed with fun surprises.

The good news is… Sheila has been busy this morning and the Lucky Dips have been freshly refilled! 🎉

With the summer holidays now in full swing, they’re the perfect little treat to keep the children entertained… and at a bargain price too!

A massive thank you, Sheila, for everything you do. Your kindness, dedication and incredible commitment over the last decade have brought joy to so many families, and we’re so lucky to have you as part of the Barnardo’s Brierley Hill family. 💚
