Hello to old and new followers! 👋✨ I’ve had quite a few new faces pop up here recently, so I thought I’d say hello and reintroduce myself.
I’m Jennie, the person behind I’d Wear That… my little orange shop and creative studio on Brighton seafront, filled with vintage and preloved finds, pieces made and upcycled by me, and lots of embroidery 🧵💛
What a summer it’s been! ☀️ The school holidays have absolutely flown by, but we’ve achieved so much in that space of time. We refurbed and opened the studio shop on Brighton seafront (hard work during those crazy heatwaves! 🥵), traded at our very first festival at We Out Here Festival 🪩, and I’ve been working on some really special wedding embroidery commissions. I’ve also loved helping people add a little something unique to clothes and pieces they already love.
Now the kids are back at school, we’re heading back to our regular opening hours:
✨ Tuesday–Saturday | 10am–5pm
✨ Sunday + Monday | Closed
And I’m already starting to think about the cosier months ahead… 🍂🧵
This autumn/winter I’d love to start running small, relaxed workshops here in the studio. I’m thinking:
🪡 Reverse appliqué
✂️ Sew your own garment
🧵 Free-motion embroidery
🎨 Lino printing
But I’d LOVE to know what you’d like me to teach you! Is there something you’ve always wanted to have a go at? Let me know in the comments 👇
And if you’re an artist, maker or creative who would like to host a workshop here, please get in touch. It’s a small space, so workshops will be intimate… but I think it’s going to be very cosy down here by the sea in the winter. 🌊✨
Here’s to a new season of making, mending, learning and creating together. 💛
