I can keep a secret!!!!!!!

Well, this is a bit of a moment.

This is Mabel has been named one of the Nation's Favourite Businesses 2026.

A small business started by one woman, from a little idea that grew out of a very messy chapter of life, now being recognised alongside some of the brilliant independent businesses across the UK.

I'm genuinely a bit emotional about this one.

This is Mabel started with a simple idea: that sometimes you don't need another piece of advice you just need to know your not the only one going through something (and a t-shirt that says nope).

Somehow, that little idea has grown into a community, a growing brand and a business I'm now building for the long term.

Thank you to everyone who has bought something, shared a post, told a friend, worn their NOPE loudly or quietly supported from the sidelines.

Apparently we're one of the Nation's Favourite now.

Not bad for a girl from Seaford.

They’re going to judge you either way so might as well be judged for who you are then who you are pretending to be.

Peri menopause symptoms are pretty rough but no longer giving a s**t what people think is definitely a bonus!!

The women who soundtracked our formative years.

Before algorithms decided what we should listen to, we had CDs, MTV, music magazines and the one friend who always knew about the next band.

These six women sounded completely different — but they had something in common.

They didn’t make themselves smaller to fit the room.

Different voices. Same energy.

This tee is our little love letter to the women who taught us that you don’t have to fit the mould to make an impact.

And if you grew up in the 90s/00s…

you’ll probably recognise every single one.

Coming soon.

She made being angry, messy, vulnerable and completely honest feel powerful.

Jagged Little Pill gave women permission to say the uncomfortable thing out loud — and made vulnerability sound like strength.

Thirty years later, it still feels like someone handed us a microphone and said:

Go on. Say it.

Her 1995 album became a huge cultural phenomenon, selling more than 30 million copies worldwide and winning four Grammys. Its raw emotional directness has been widely credited with opening doors for later female artists.

Dolores didn’t need to change her voice to fit the room.

She kept her Irish accent.
She kept the vulnerability.
And when she needed to, she absolutely roared.

There was something incredibly powerful about the contrast — softness and fury living in the same voice.

From Linger to Zombie, she proved that vulnerability and strength were never opposites.

They could exist in the same breath.

O’Riordan’s distinctive Irish brogue and ability to move between fragility and intensity became central to the Cranberries’ sound.

Before “girl power” became a marketing strategy, Gwen was singing about what it actually felt like to be just a girl in a world that had already decided what that meant.

She brought sarcasm, vulnerability, attitude and a completely unmistakable sense of style.

She didn’t need to become less feminine to be taken seriously.

She just showed up as herself.

And somehow made it look very, very cool.

Tragic Kingdom became a massive mainstream success, while “Just a Girl” turned everyday gender expec

I haven’t talked about this for a while but it’s important to me that you understand where the origins of ‘this is Mabel’ came from.

For three years I got progressively more sick, chest pain, recurrent chest infections. Muscle pain, fatigue, loads of tests, scans and appointments with no answers.

Finally I got diagnosed and started therapy and meds and was shocked to be told I had anxiety… I was teaching fitness class for 10-50 people at a time no problem. I’m not shy and didn’t understand why I was physically suffering with a mental illness.

As I told people what was going on (hey fellow over sharers) I found out that ALOT of people had been through similar and we’d never talked or heard about it.

I made it my mission to let people know that ‘normal’ high functioning people are going through too. It’s not the stereotype you imagine, it’s not a weakness to suffer and we all need to be able to say nope, not today and show up as we are.

Thank you all for being her and helping spread our little brand… the fact that the nope tee is so popular shown how many of you get it too and that’s pretty awesome!!!
