The Glorious Twelfth marks the start of the grouse season and the beginning of a much-anticipated time of year for many who live, work and spend time in our countryside.
As a family business and retailer of country and shooting clothing, we're proud to support those who spend time outdoors, whether that's shooting, farming, walking, conservation work or simply enjoying our landscapes.
For generations, grouse shooting has been part of the fabric of our rural communities, supporting local jobs, traditional skills and the careful management of many of our upland landscapes. Well-managed grouse moors are often associated with habitat management that can benefit not only red grouse, but also species such as curlew, snipe, lapwing and a wide variety of other wildlife.
This year has also been a reminder of just how precious our uplands are, with wildfires affecting moorland across parts of the UK. We'd like to thank the gamekeepers, estate staff, farmers, firefighters and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to protect these special landscapes and the wildlife that depends on them.
Whatever your perspective, we hope everyone enjoys spending time in the countryside responsibly and appreciates the wildlife, landscapes and traditions that make it so special.
Wishing everyone heading to the moors a safe, successful and memorable start to the season.
