This weekend’s version of switching off… 🦖🤍

We followed the footprints, found the dinosaurs, climbed EVERYTHING, lost several battles over a sun hat and, obviously, finished with ice cream.

Just a really lovely little family afternoon at Dino Island, Southwater Country Park.

Turns out switching off looks a little different at the weekend. 🤍

I’m learning to get better at this. 🤍

When you run a business from home, there’s always something you could be doing. Another message to answer, another template to make, another reel to edit, another idea rattling around your head.

But last week I closed the laptop, put Fi in the pram and went out for a couple of hours.

Good food. Good company. No rushing.

And two hours very well spent.

I’m slowly learning that taking time away from the to-do list doesn’t mean I’m getting less done. Sometimes it’s exactly what I need to come back feeling more like myself, and a whole lot more creative.

And when those couple of hours are spent somewhere as lovely as supporting another brilliant little local business, even better. 🤍

Turns out, switching off is something I’m still learning too.

I did something that made me nervous today. 🤍

I thought I’d be the only beginner.

One thing Charlotte told me before the class really stuck with me…

So many people assume Reformer Pilates is for people who are already fit, flexible or experienced, when actually it can be one of the most beginner-friendly ways to start.

She was absolutely right.

Earlier this year I had a postpartum heart attack, so getting back to movement has been a slow journey. This was my first exercise class outside of cardiac rehabilitation, and if I’m honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect.

But from the moment I walked into .reformerwellness, I felt completely at ease.

The studio is beautiful, everyone was so welcoming, and I left wondering why I’d built it up so much in my head.

If you’ve been curious about trying Reformer Pilates but you’ve convinced yourself it’s “not for people like me”…

Maybe this is your sign to give it a go.

Sometimes, simple really is the most beautiful. 🤍

After stitching personalised keepsakes for so many little ones, one thing I’ve learnt is that the simplest designs are often the ones that become the most loved.

No characters.
No trends.
No themes.

Just a beautifully embroidered name on a timeless knit that works for birthdays, family photos, cosy autumn days and all the little moments in between.

This one was stitched for Lux, and I absolutely loved creating it. I hope it’s one of those jumpers that’s reached for again and again, and eventually tucked away as a keepsake full of memories. ✨

POV: You’ve spent hours stitching a gift… and then you get to watch someone open it. 🥹🤍

There are moments that make every late night, every tangled thread and every tiny stitch completely worth it.

Watching Hallie slowly realise the jacket in the bag had her name on it was one of them.

The look on her face as she pulled it out… the huge grin… and then immediately posing for a mini photoshoot in it. 🥹 Safe to say, I think she approved!

Most of the time I carefully wrap an order, wave goodbye and hope it’s loved. I don’t often get to witness these moments, so being there for this one felt incredibly special.

A huge thank you to for capturing these photos for me. They’ll always be some of my favourite Thread & Ted memories. 🤍

And thank you, Hallie, for reminding me exactly why I started Thread & Ted. It’s never just about the stitches… it’s about the smiles, the memories and the moments that come afterwards.

If I could embroider one design over and over again… I think it would be wildflowers. 🌼🐝

There’s something so lovely about knowing no two will ever be exactly the same.

Every flower is stitched one at a time, choosing the colours, adding the little bees and butterflies, and slowly watching the whole meadow come to life.

This one was made especially for Hallie, and I hope it gets worn on muddy adventures, family days out, birthday parties and all those little moments that become the biggest memories. 🤍

One of my favourite things about creating personalised pieces is imagining the stories they’ll become part of long after they leave my hands.
