Had a fantastic 3 days away with like minded ladies on a Machine Embroidery retreat in Huntingdon.
I accomplished quite a lot. A free standing lace windmill, 2 book covers and 3 cute cat keyrings they were donated to the charity we were supporting this year. Peterborough cat rescue.

Two memory bears collected today. Customer really pleased with them and wrote on her fb page the following.

"Picked these 2 beautiful memory bears up from the very talented Dawn Egan. Made from dad’s favourite shirts. Brings everything back and doesn’t seem to get any easier remembering dad wearing each shirt . 💔💔"

3 memory bears made from a dearly missed grandads very old and fragile quilted bedspread which was red on one side and white on the other so I was able to make all 3 bears just slightly different. I was also give a piece of deckchair canvas. It was quite thick so I only used it on the paw pads and base. They all turned out rather cute. Customer very happy with them.

I was asked if I could make four memory quilts using t-shirts and other clothing from dearly missed Mum & Dad, Nanny & Grandad. I used over 30 items of clothing to make the quilts and bound the edges with fabric from a dressing gown and a pair of trousers. The quilts are backed with soft fleece and have machine embroidered hearts with "Love always Mum & Dad" and "Love always Nanny & Grandad" on the back.
The finished size is 45" x 54"

I also made a cushion cover from spare squares.

Message from my client.
"Hi Dawn they were thrilled, it brought lots of memories and a lovely afternoon chatting about them. Thank you again.
They are beautiful quilts x x"

Finally finished this gorgeous cushion cover. I stitched out the blocks on my embroidery machine sewed them all together...

Finally finished this gorgeous cushion cover. I stitched out the blocks on my embroidery machine sewed them all together and stitched on a backing with a zip opening. Love how it turned out, bright and sunny just perfect for a springtime make. 24 x 24 inches. 🌻 🌻

I made this quilt for my eldest daughter during lockdown. I have waited all this time to give it to her for her first child. Yesterday we had a baby shower where she received it. We will be welcoming a baby boy to family in five weeks.

The quilt is sewn, quilted and bound by hand. It was a labour of love and will be cherished. 💙

4 small bears. Each one is individual but made from the same clothing. 2 check shirts and a pair of shorts . A loving memory for 4 grandchildren of their beloved grandad.

This is the lovely message I received from my customer.

"Just wanted to thank you for your work on the beautiful memory bears you made from my Dads clothing. I gifted the bears to his grandchildren on the day of his funeral and they all loved them, such a special keepsake for them all. Thank you again for the speedy turn-around, it was so appreciated". ☺️
