Back during the Covid days, I created a giant mask for the face sculpture in Calne — a Remembrance Mask made to honour those who served and those we’ve lost.

The mask was designed, digitised, and made by Malling Makes. This year, we adapted it to a banner and donated it to our local Royal British Legion. It's now displayed alongside other beautiful remembrance projects made by the people of Calne.

This piece holds great personal meaning for our family too. My brother served 22 years in the RAF and is sadly no longer with us, so seeing the mask displayed each year is especially poignant.

Thank you to the Royal British Legion for keeping its story alive, and to Yasmin — the inspiration from your dad shines through every time.

I’ve been busy on the knitting machine again… 🧦✨
These cosy socks are finally ready and waiting for new homes!

Made in either a silky acrylic sock yarn (£15) or a snuggly wool blend (75% wool, 25% polyamide) (£20) — so you can choose what feels best for your feet.

I’ve shared a couple of pictures of the yarns too, so you can pick your favourite colour and I’ll make a pair just for you. 🧶💖

It saddens me to say good bye to my dear friend ‘The Summer’ as her less popular friends ‘The Autumn’ and ‘The Winter’ are fast approaching. The shorts have been put into hibernation and won’t wake again for at least 6 months. The short, cold, DARK and wet days are waiting just around the corner, determined to bring my spirits down!
On a brighter note, I have revitalised my SOCK habit and have a load or quality funky sock yarn, some in pairs the same but lots of individual ones so you can really go wild and off the wall.

I couldn’t be prouder of my niece Yasmin making it all the way to the final of the Sewing Bee! ✨

Each week she’s had one of her dad’s waistcoats hanging behind her, but this one is especially close to my heart. I designed and embroidered the fabric, and my brother Dave (her dad) turned it into the waistcoat you see here. 💙

It means so much to see something we created together featured in this way — a real family piece that ties us all together through our love of sewing.

And what about that incredible made-to-measure this week? Absolutely brilliant — such talent and creativity on show. 🧵✨

Sewing Bee episode 2 tonight! A special interest for my family this year as my niece Yasmin is taking part. Sewing has been in the family for a long time. My brother’s interest came from watching me make and alter things for years and he passed this onto his daughter who is now rocking it!!!!

The 600 patient gowns for an NHS oncology department, I have been working on for a while, are completed and now it is time to re-vamp everything. New logo finished, looking very fresh and smart. New website on its way soon. New business cards and flyers ready to go out! Watch this space we will have a meet the machines at some point soon.
I now have space and time for alteration and repair work again so please get in touch if you have anything in NEEDLE of attention.
