What to expect from SOTV
I wanted to be upfront about what SOTV is and where it’s heading.
For now, SOTV will only be selling SOTV-branded clothing. That’s where we’re starting, and it’s the right way to build the brand.
You also won’t see me joining loads of Facebook groups and constantly promoting products. I want to build this community properly from the ground up. If SOTV grows, I want it to be because people here genuinely like what we’re doing and choose to share it, not because I’ve spammed every Birmingham-related group on Facebook.
Don’t expect a huge launch with hundreds of products overnight. This is going to be a slow, steady journey. I’d rather release a smaller range that I’m proud of than rush out loads of designs just for the sake of it.
All of our standard T-shirts will be made from organic cotton and will include a size guide to help you choose the right fit.
For those who need larger sizes, I’ve got you covered too. We can offer sizes right up to 7XL. Depending on the size and supplier, these may not always be organic, but I’d rather make SOTV available to everyone than leave people out.
SOTV won’t have hundreds of different products. The aim is to keep the range focused and only release items that fit the brand.
A question that’s already come up is whether any money goes to the club. The answer is no. SOTV isn’t affiliated with the club, and none of the profits go to them. However, I do have plans to use a percentage of monthly profits to support smaller, independent Birmingham-based events and community projects where I can make a genuine difference.
Finally, I know SOTV won’t be for everyone. Some people won’t like me, and some won’t agree that the club doesn’t receive any money. That’s completely fair.
The reality is that the club can’t and won’t use the SOTV name, so they’re not losing anything because SOTV exists. This is simply a fan-created brand, built by someone who loves Birmingham, with the goal of creating quality clothing and, over time, giving something back to the wider Birmingham community.
