📸 Last Friday we heard from Michael Cockerham our chapter’s multi-award-winning photographer and 24-year Prince Imperial member.

As is often the case when Michael delivers an 8-minute presentation, it’s difficult to keep your attention on what he’s saying because, as an audience, we’re all drawn to the screen beside him displaying his work. (His images are considerably more interesting than his voice too…)

Jokes aside, as the photos show, Michael’s work is exceptional. Whether he’s photographing people, businesses, events or commercial projects, his ability to capture the right moment, emotion and tell a story through an image is clear to see. If you get the opportunity to speak with him, he’ll happily talk at length about the art of capturing not just a photograph, but a feeling.

One of the things that stands out about Michael is his versatility. He works comfortably across a wide range of commercial and private commissions, consistently producing high-quality images that help clients showcase their businesses, products, people and special occasions.

🌟 Weekly Spotlight: Ryan from RCB Window Cleaning Services 🌟

This morning at BNI Prince Imperial, we had a brilliant 8-minute presentation from Vincent Curry of Receipts & Rewards 📱🎯

Vincent spoke about how businesses can use digital loyalty solutions to strengthen relationships with existing customers and encourage repeat business, all without customers needing to hand over lots of personal data. A simple QR code system allows customers to collect loyalty rewards quickly and easily, while keeping privacy front and centre 🔒

Some really interesting statistics shared this morning:

📊 It can be 5–25x more expensive to win a new customer than retain an existing one📊 Businesses have a 60–70% chance of selling to an existing customer, compared to a much lower chance with brand new customers📊 Customers will often actively change their spending habits to maximise loyalty rewards and benefits

Vincent also demonstrated how businesses can:✅ Send offers, vouchers and messages directly to loyal customers✅ Reward people who refer their business✅ Encourage more Google reviews through automated review requests✅ Even fully white-label the platform with their own branding and App Store presence 📲

The platform is ideal for businesses such as:☕ Coffee shops💇 Hairdressers & beauty salons🛍️ Small retailers🏪 Wholesalers supplying hospitality businesses

🏡 A brilliant 8-minute presentation on Friday from Richard Bould at Jennings and Barrett.

Most people in BNI know Richard and the team for their hugely successful Block & Estate Management division, which has helped make Richard a multi-million pound giver within BNI 👏

But this week, the focus was on their Property Sales service… and some of the stats genuinely made the room sit up and listen 👀

📈 Properties sold with J&B are typically on the market for just 68 days
📉 by comparison local average with competitors is 201 days

💷 Average asking price achieved: 101%
✅ Less than 2% fall-through rate

Richard also explained how Jennings & Barrett have adapted with the times, moving beyond traditional platforms like Rightmove and embracing video-based social media marketing to help properties stand out and reach the right buyers faster 🎥📱

It’s clear that combining modern marketing techniques with strong local knowledge and a proactive team is delivering some seriously impressive results.

Great to hear from Filip at Silver Frog Property this morning 👏

In his 8-minute presentation, Filip gave us a behind-the-scenes look at one of his recent development projects in SE6 🏡 and it was a brilliant example of turning problems into profit.

This wasn’t a straightforward job… far from it:
⚠️ A tricky flying freehold
⚠️ Issues with rising damp
⚠️ An illegal rear extension
⚠️ Planning use complications

Plenty there to put most people off… but not Filip 💪

Through clever thinking and a strategic redesign, he transformed the property into a studio flat + a small HMO, unlocking far greater value than the original layout 💡

It’s a great reminder that with the right expertise, even the most challenging properties can become real opportunities.

Great energy in the room yesterday morning from Carl at Urban Body Repairs 👏🚗

Carl gave us a really engaging 8-minute presentation, sharing his journey in the motor trade spanning over 20 years since leaving school. It’s clear this is a business built on experience, craftsmanship, and pride in the work.

Based in Dartford, Urban Body Repairs are a family-run vehicle body repair specialist, and the photos Carl shared of their setup were seriously impressive. Their workshop is fully equipped to handle everything from standard cars right through to larger vehicles like horseboxes 🐎🚛

Their core services include:
🔧 Bodywork repairs – from minor bumps to more serious accident damage
💡 Headlight refurbishment – bringing tired lights back to life
