This Week at CAN...

We have lots of exciting events coming up — Including the debut of a variety of new workshops and sessions by Oh Sew Splendid!

They're starting a six-week introduction to machine sewing this Friday, as well as a one-off intro to hand sewing on Thursday. And two new weekly groups are starting: A Sewcial Club each Thursday and Open Studio Hours on Friday afternoon! Contact Oh Sew Splendid for more details.

We've also got a number of our own events, including We CAN Write on Monday evenings for an all-abilities writing club, the ELEV8 Youth Showcase at the Emporium on Thursday, and Animation and Crochet workshops this Saturday.

Do you know how to crochet? Oh Sew Splendid is making poppies for NWL District Council's Community Poppy Project - to be displayed at Memorial Square for Remembrance.

All materials are provided and sessions will be led by crocheter Jim - these are simple patterns using a magic circle and Tunisian crochet which we can show you. The workshops are free, we are collecting donations for the Coalville Veteran's Coffee Morning if you want to donate for the workshop.

To all you Splendid sewers.

I need some help The Lions are doing caps of courage for children with cancer and have had alot of caps made and sent to them but before they can be sent to the hospitals they need the lions club label sewn to them. I have sewn about 200 before but as you can see in the picture there is alot and I would like some help. So if anyone is available for some hand sewing this Saturday at Coalville CAN or any day next week I would be really grateful.
