I have had a few people contact me to place an order and once given the cost of their knitted bespoke knit say that it is too expensive
I have added the below just to highlight how much items cost to make

The fact many people do not value to wider cost of handknitted items.

Between fast-fashion expectations and the "hobby" mindset, not forgetting the "disposable fashion" trends nowadays, it's easy to overlook what actually goes into making a piece from scratch. It’s not just the yarn.

There are plenty of hidden costs people rarely factor in:

• Supplies & Notions: Quality yarn, buttons, and careful packaging.

• Overhead: Purchased patterns, specialized tools, and needles.

• Time: Dozens of hours of focused, manual labour for a single garment.

• The "Hobby" Trap: Because knitting is a passion, folk sometimes assume the work should be free!

I am also convinced people still have the mindset handcrafts like knitting are still categorized as domestic unpaid labour or a wee thing we do in the evening to pass time! There is a cultural misconception that because you enjoy doing it, the labour cost is zero!

LONG COVID …….
There is an anger that can come with Long COVID that we don’t talk about enough.

The anger of losing pieces of your life. The anger of constantly rationing your energy. The anger of explaining your limitations over and over, only to have people continue expecting the same things from you as if you never said a word.

And underneath so much of that anger is grief.

Grief for the life that was interrupted. Grief for the opportunities that slipped away. Grief for the person you remember being before COVID.

Sometimes anger is what happens when you’ve spent years trying to explain something the world still doesn’t understand.

I am 4.5 years in and still struggle as many of us do………..
