Auction haul day! My goodness. We're excited to dive in and sort everything through. There's always a long process involved in between scouring through the auction catalogues, fast forwarding to actually listing and finally selling and shipping the individual items. We've been in this business now for 4 1/2 years and only now we're beginning to feel like we sort of know what we're doing. 😆

🌺 SOLD 🌺 4 beautiful Ridgway ironstone treasures. 2 round and 2 oval matching serving plates with handles. They have really exquisite patterning and gilded accents. All 4 of these are now winging their way to Scotland to their forever home.

I thought I'd share this fun guy with you.
And there's a story that goes with it. -
I love those intuitive prods. A few days ago I randomly picked up a vintage Royal Winton catalogue from our huge pile of vintage reference books in our 'stock room'. As I browsed, suddenly I discovered a photo that really caught my eye. Months earlier we had sourced a bright rooster tea pot that we just couldn't properly identify and so we assumed it was just a fun little novelty tea pot. But..this forray into the reference book unexpectedly revealed a photo and description of this charming rooster and showed me where it was from, where it was was made (1936 to likely 1939) and what it was called. I love those moments. So...I made a little video for your delight. I hope you like it. 😁🐓

We're pleased with the lots we won at auction today. There were also 2 mechanical kitchen scales which aren't included in this video. We got ribbon plates, Wade whimsies, coin spoons, porcelain dinner plates and a gorgeous pitcher. A nice mix of vintage and antique treasures. Watch out for the listings over the next few days.
