Bought it for Christmas. Kept it for everything.

Nights out with the girls. Work days when I'm presenting and need to feel sharp. Holidays. This dress has done them all, and it still collects compliments every time it goes out.

That's the thing about a true go-to - the occasions change, the dress doesn't. Cost per wear somewhere near zero, joy per wear as high as ever.

Doncaster Clothes Swap comes to DGLAM - part of Sustainable Fashion Week!

Saturday 3 October, 11am–2pm
DGLAM, Paddington Room (first floor), Chequer Road, DN1 3BZ
Free. Just turn up.

Bring what you don't wear. Leave with something you'll love. A whole room of clothes, bags and accessories, and not a penny changes hands.

Everyone gets five swap tickets on arrival, plus one extra for every item you bring in, up to ten. One ticket, one item. Nothing to bring? Come anyway — the five are yours regardless.

Nothing goes to waste. Anything not swapped is passed on to local Doncaster charities.

Right in the town centre, easy to get to, and open to everyone.

We're so excited to finally share the details — our first ever clothing swap is happening, and it's opening 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 as part of the Official Doncaster Hub.

Saturday 26 September, 10am–1pm
Doncaster Unitarian & Free Christian Church, 60 Hall Gate, DN1 3PB
Free. Everyone welcome. No booking needed.

Bring what you don't wear. Leave with something you'll love. Swap a jumper for a jacket, a shirt for a skirt. No money changes hands — just good clothes finding new people instead of landfill.

How it works: bring clean, wearable clothes, bags or accessories. Everyone gets five swap tickets on arrival, plus one extra ticket per item you bring in, up to ten. One ticket, one item. Nothing to bring? Come anyway — you'll still get your five and go home with something.

Drop your items in from 9.30am so the rails are full when browsing starts at 10.

A mending and sewing table with Alison Greer of The Love & Stitches Studio, where you can learn simple repairs that keep clothes going for years
And we'll introduce you to Closet Remix, a free app built here in Doncaster that helps you build outfits from what's already in your wardrobe - www.closetremix.co.uk

Nothing goes to waste. Anything unswapped is sorted and passed to local charities including Phoenix and The Clothing Bank. Items beyond wear go for textile recycling.

Doncaster is an official Sustainable Fashion Week hub for 2026, and we’re thrilled to be part of it.

Two free community events from us: a clothes swap on Sat 26 Sept, 10am–1pm at Doncaster Unitarian Church, and Swap, Mend & Make Do at DGLAM on Sat 3 Oct, 11am–2pm. Both free, both drop-in, both with free Closet Remix access.

The hub is led by Love and Stitches Studio, with repair workshops, a fabric destash and more running across the nine days.

Nationally SFW runs 26 Sept – 4 Oct across 44+ UK hubs and five countries, under this year’s theme, Threads of Resistance. Full programme at ASingleThread.org.
