2027 is only 4 months away.
2016 was 10 years ago.
COVID happened 6 years ago.

If you were born in 1990, you’re only 14 years away from 50.

And somehow, 2007 is further behind us than 2040 is ahead of us.

Time is moving FAST.
Stop waiting for the “right time.”

Start the business.
Take the course.
Make the move.
Build the life you keep talking about.

Because the truth is, time doesn’t stop while you’re trying to figure everything out.

One day, you’ll look back and realise another 5 or 10 years have passed.

Start now!

I’M TAKING YOUR LEGAL QUESTIONS THIS MONTH
What legal issue have you been confused about, worried about, or arguing with someone about?

Can your landlord just do that?
Can your employer do that?
Who owns that property?
What happens when someone dies without a Will?
Can you record someone without their permission?
Can your partner take your property?
What happens when someone owes you money and refuses to pay?
Is that online business actually legal?
Can someone sue you over a Facebook post?

Drop the topic or question in the comments.

You might just see your question become one of our discussions this month.

No question is too “small.” If it affects your life, let’s talk about it.

Barr. Tee, I want to sue my landlord for serving me a Notice to Quit when my rent has not expired. Isn't that a breach of my right as a tenant?

September is my birth month! 🥳❤️

I’m genuinely grateful to God for life, growth and how far He has brought me.

I’ve learnt a lot, unlearnt a lot, made mistakes, grown from them and I’m still becoming the person I want to be.

This new year, I’m praying for more grace, more wisdom, good health, peace, bigger opportunities and of course… plenty good news!🙏🏾😂

And to everyone who has supported me, engaged with my content, shared my posts, sent me messages or simply stuck around thank you. I don’t take you for granted.❤️

Oya, since it’s my birth month, what should I wish for?

Barr Tee, please come to my aid. I left for work for two weeks , came back to find that my landlord had entered my apartment, removed all my belongings and rented it to another tenant. My things are outside. I have nowhere to go. What do I do right now?

First things first: do not panic and do not fight the new tenant.

If you still have a subsisting tenancy and your landlord removed you and your belongings without following the lawful process for recovering possession, this is serious.

Do this immediately:👇👇

🥢 Document everything.
Take photographs and videos of your belongings, the apartment, the locks and anything showing what happened. Keep your tenancy agreement, rent receipts, bank alerts and messages.

🥢 Report the incident.
Make a formal complaint to the police and obtain a record of the complaint, particularly if your belongings have been damaged, lost or taken.

🥢 Don't take matters into your own hands. Don't break the new tenant's door, threaten anyone or damage their property.

🥢Speak to a lawyer urgently.
Depending on the circumstances, you may have claims relating to unlawful eviction, trespass and damage or interference with your belongings, and you may need urgent court intervention.

And landlord, Na my house” is not a licence to use self-help.

If you want your property back from a tenant, follow the law.

Don't turn a tenancy dispute into a bigger legal problem.

Avoid avoidable wahala
